Taking xbox on trip....

I will soon be going for about a 16 day trip to Colombia, South America to visit some relatives over there. I was wondering if any type of x-rays used in airports could harm my xbox, laptop, and or modchip. Also, do you think they'd require me to open my console up if they knew what i had in there? Thanks...

Far from here!
NAh, I took my laptop through the airport last year and they made me take it out of the case and scanned the case and laptop. Didnt do any harm to it.it.it.it.it.it.it.it.it.

hmm.. lota "it"'s there but thanks for the reply. I was asking because i once saw a post that some guy on x-s forums claimed his xbox was ruined after going through airprt security (meaning x-ray stuff). I was worried about the radiation those things give off that could afffect any of the hardware but i guess not...

Just joking with the "its". Both of mine went through and they were fine. Have never had any problems with the xrays. You should be good.

that guy was just saying that it did when it was probably his fault. You can take your xbox and laptop on a trip with no problems, besides do you think they would show you ppl using laptops on planes in all these commercials and movies, can u say laysuits......lol :p

wrboyce you need to pic a different Avatar from somewhere else bc the site its in requires login.

u don't have 2, but from my knowledge is that for the most part the XBOX doesn't need the sheilding, it's there for 2 reasons, 2 protect the inards from magnetic feilds that can damage such things as flash memorey and Harddrives. plus I think it's there 2 please the FCC(think thats who it was), i can't remember, oh ya and it's used as a Ground between all the components

I took it to Bolivia and Argentina, departing from Miami, and the security people didn't scan the xbox, they just checked it with a small white piece of something, and that was it...

nothing happened ... 8)

I've taken my box with me to Barbados about 5 times, and I've never had a problem. I pack it carefully in my stowed luggage, so I can't comment on the carry-on procedures, but that shouldn't be an issue. Just remember, the less your box is being banged around, the better, so pack carefully.

The small white piece of something is for the TSA to make sure it hasn't been in contact with any bomb making materials..
They wipe it all around the zippers of your luggage, and they also open up your luggage and wipe it around the liner of the luggage, then they put it back into the machine to have it scanned and then you go through if you're good, and well if you aren't good then they'll have a little chat with you.

I've taken my Xbox to Laguna Beach and had no problems at all after it went through Airport security. You shouldn't have any problems with it, but you might wanna put that sheilding back on.

I took my modded XBOX to Quatar in the middle east. No amount of X-rays or customs did anything to it... LOL!

Ahhhh... watching my Futurama and Family Guy off the hard drive got me through that deployment. :)

A little DOAX Nude patch didn't hurt either when the ladies were sparse...

Computer freezing problem.

Right.... Ive flashed alot of drives now, and one lite on. When i removed the drivers for the lite on erase it worked fine and i flashed the drive. Now when i remove the drivers even if jungleflasher isnt open and i turn the ck3 on the computer will freeze, im using all the right things in the right ports on the sata card thing.

extra info: I have a probe v2 connected, a drive connected, ck3 light is blue (modeB one)
