GENERAL Team Xecuter unlocked pcb problem

Hi there i bought 3 unlocked pcbs for slim xboxes and received them today fitted two no problem but the third doesnt seem to want to work it shows up in jungleflasher when firmwareios flashed and the drive ejects etc but it wont read games its like the drive wont spin up dashboard says reading then goes to open tray its not the drive or console as i swapped one of the other unlocked pcbs into the drive and it works fine do you think its a faulty board or have i missed something

I tool out the laser ribbon and out it back in didnt check the other two mind you i was puttingit down to a faulty pcb?

Hi no i gave up with it i can only thnk its the pcb as i never touched any other conncection when i tried a different pcb in drive just swapped them over and flashed firmware and it worked fine

you could well need a new laser, it`s quiet a common problem on slims for the laser going. i had the same happen when i replaced my pcb, so got a new laser and all is good now

There is no 'bad batch' but you do get the odd one that has maybe a dry solder joint etc.

If you think it's faulty simply rerun it for testing / replacement

maybe swap the laser from the other drive as a tester ????

i swapped out the pcb and it is playing games fine so that rules out the laser issue do you think if i heated the pcb with a hot air gun it might cure the dry solder theory just like you do with rrod

if you tamper with it then i doubt you can return it...leave it as it is and send it back to retailer for testing purposes

why would you want to do that,i mean if it's faulty then you just need to send it back to your reseller.as uber said
