Go take a look at the Xodus forums ... especially the thread entitled When is the new Solderless Adapter coming out ??

As Xodus say - pretty much any solderless adapter will work with a 1.0-1.5 mobo, but you'll need to wait for one that works with a 1.6 ... hang on ... isn't that what they announced? Is that a man behind the curtain? If I click my heels together will that take me home?

As Xecuter said - solderless blows. Soldering is not hard ... and it is something you might find useful later on. The LPC rebuild doesn't look that hard (sorry, my box is a 1.4 so I have no personal experience on it).

Alternative - wait for Xecuter to release their solderless 1.6 solution. My guess is that it will be out before Xodus get theirs shipped.

dude he is right... there are people on xbox-scene that will solder your chip in for free... all you have to do is pay shipping. solderless is a weak alternative. it is way better to have your chip secured in.

From what I have heard, it should work. But keep in mind that they haven’t actually released it yet, just unveiled it for people to look at. Team Xecuter has also been working on their own Xapt3r add-on for the 1.6 units, they just haven’t shown it off yet because they wait until they feel it’s working as it should, not for ooo’s and awe’s on the X-S news.

I thought Xodus release it because they wre running out of things to say and days to say it .. so thought they's finish the 12 days of Xmas by putting their Christmas tre.e out to the curb for collection.

Maybe, but then again we’re talking about a team that considers a bug fix to their OS to be a Christmas gift to those that have been bestowed the privilege to send money for their chip.

ok, thanks for the info ppl. I can solder really well. I just didn't want to ruin my box doin it. I'll prob. be able to do it with the rebuild and as long as i have a solder sucker by my side.

what kind of response is that ?

im TELLING you it blows

i manufacture this sh*t and i hate doing it too

it attracts a MASSIVE amount of problems on the forums and among users. Most of them are either lazy or cant / wont solder

those that cant they either learn or spend the money to get it donw properly

those that wont get to be un-lazy for an hour (and save money)

the ps2 scene doesnt seem to have this problem ;)

you solder well ?

so whats your problem ?

if you say you solder well then you wont break your xbox. even average skills make this an easy job

its funny how you say you solder well but you dont trust the fact you solder well at the same time

just solder it - no sucker needed - takes 2 minutes tops
