It's been more than a year since Capcom released Street Fighter X Tekken to a very warm reception. But wasn't there supposed to be another game, with the Tekken series reciprocating the project with their own crossover? Don't worry, you weren't imagining things, and Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada hasn't forgotten about Namco Bandai's side of the deal either. In an interview with Siliconera, Harada confirmed that the project is "still in development", despite having not been seen since a character model of Ryu from all the way back in 2010. "We will say first off that the game is still in development, so you don't need to worry about that." Harada said. "There are several reasons why we haven't released any updates."

Interestingly, one of these reasons has been Street Fighter X Tekken itself and it's success from people who didn't actually play either individual title until that game came out: "That was very unexpected, but quite cool. It's something we want to take care and grow."
Sadly, there's no word yet on when Tekken X Street Fighter will see the light of day. Harada himself says that Namco Bandai are still "looking for the right time" - which could mean the game skipping what's left of the current generation entirely, as hinted at a few months ago.
Of course, making sure they take their time might not necessarily be a bad thing as evidenced by our feature from the tail end of last year on several other games that almost never saw the light of day. Is Tekken X Street Fighter still in with a fighting chance? Let us know in the comments.
