Temp on XexMenu.

Okay, finally jtagged my brand new Jasper yesterday. But I'm concern about the temperature reading. XexMenu showing around 55C on GPU at Idle, and around 50C with XCM and Talismoon mods. Is this normal on Jasper units?

They're pretty much the same with my Falcon reading. But with XCM, Talismoon, and 12v mods, my Falcon reduced to around 45C.

I think they are usually a bit cooler. Did you try to play games, and then get a reading? That might give a better picture, if something is actually needed to cool it further. Shouldn't be though..

I tried to load and play game for couple minutes, and then quickly jump back to XexMenu and temp spikes up to +5C and going down.

I don't understand Jaspers supposed to generate less heat than those old model Xbox 360.

yeah, thats what they are supposed to. Im not sure if playing a couple of minutes (more like an hour) tells that much. Did you make any cooling modifications, that could harm the airflow?

i wouldnt worry about it too much. my xenon ran at 60 after gaming so i did the 12v fan mod and it helped. id think youd be fine with a jasper running at that. what have you got the fans set to on fsd?

Can you adjust it, with the talismoon and XCM fans? They are connected to the 12V DVD point, right?

But those upgraded fans shouldn't even be needed.. Pretty strange..

not sure, idont bother paying for fans, when i can replicate the cooling effects with 1 wire.
True, but not always enough atleast with xenons. Plus, very noisy..

Idle Xenon CPU temp is 55. GPU is 37. 12V and shroud mod, changed gpu heat sink with that of jasper cpu heatsink.

I don't know why my cpu temp is higher than my gpu. Tried using cpu heatsink from jasper but it increase the temp instead. Xenon CPU heatsink's better than cpu heatsink from other model.

I attached fans to the side of the heatsinks but they didn't make much difference in temps.

In another forum, there reported "normal" temp range is 55 to 70C.

I was never bothered with the fan noise coz I always play loud :D

What's the danger of using the 12v from the dvd drive pin out?

Talaga? You got proof? Pics would be awesome. Ill post mine later tonight.

In my current setting in which I keep my Xbox360 vertical, my Jasper stays at 46°C GPU and 45°C CPU when idle. After playing a game for around half an hour, GPU gets at 48°C and CPU at 47°C. All I have done is that I keep my fans at 100%. Other than that, everything else is stock, no heatsink change etc.

@kosa
oh sowie bro, its 54c and 39c now that I put back the casing:eek::p It was 36c without the casing :D

I used this one for the gpu
http://sn.im/13invi

and this one for the cpu
http://sn.im/13inlz

it horizontal by the way. I don't know if it is vertical :D

I will cut the mesh in the exhaust fans area and repaint it later when I have more time. I'm still experimenting on different kinds, sizes, and placement of fans. As per observation, its the kind of heatsink and 12v stock fans mod that have a great impact on temp reductions not so much the extra fans.

replacing http://sn.im/13inlz to this one http://sn.im/13invi in my xenon increased my cpu temp from 55 to 70

Some thinks that microsoft can detect, when power is being drawn from the DVd-drive. Which can result in a ban.

uh oh i did it for a friend idk if he got banned already because of this. Mine is jtagged anyway so it will be ban instantly. I read here about xmods commenting to stay away from dvddrive 12v pin. I get the impression that it may mess the power allocation to the drive, idk really.

hey, do I need to put my fan settings to 100% in xex or fsd though it's already 12v modded? will try it when i get home.

Since you've already done the 12V fan mod, changing the fan speed setting won't have any effect.
