See it on xbox-scene.com? They are so retarted and make bios flashing sound so f**kING hard. They said that you will have to go out and buy a cdrw and then flash the X3. Well X3 had webflash before the xenium. The second thing is, why the f**k do they never stop talking about that stupid os? is that all they have to tell us about? Looks to me like another bad marketing idea

i agree, they and smartxx are both full of bs when it comes to their marketing.

Their “marketing” was the deciding factor in my decision to buy an X3.

i am a former xenium owner, and I go so sick of the bullshit that company put their customers through.... and all that fluff that they do is completely a marketing ploy... why you might ask... because the X3 has come in and DOMINATED THEIR ASSES.

they talked up how many great add-ons they were going to have when i first purchased the chip. (that was about a year ago) and they have yet to come out with anything other than their retarded LED stick on strips and a ghetto USB adaptor. nothing that even comes CLOSE to the pro-switch, X3LCD, or the super-bad-ass X3 Control Panel.

anyways... i guess that is my way of saying thanks to Team Xecuter for keping it so very real. they really take the xbox modding scene to the next level and beyond. I'm so glad i made the switch!

I'm also a former Xenium owner. Well, I still own it, but it's gathering dust on a table downstairs instead of getting action inside my box.

When I was hunting for which chip to get, I kept seeing ad after ad for the "Most powerful chip EVAR!!!!!1" and decided I couldn't go wrong with it. Plus, it's SOLDERLESS because I'm way too dumb to be able to figure out the impossibly difficult art of soldering.

The chip installed fine, and never gave me any problems, but I just kept thinking "Is that it? All that fuss... for a plain ol' chip and a tiny little light...?"

I won the X3 chip in a competition at Xbox-Hq, did some reading, and after a night's work got it installed and running beautifully. The Pro Switch and XLCD were shipped this morning and should be arriving this week.

I don't get how on one hand there's this great chip that has features most software developers can't keep up with and an immensely active development team, and it gets less attention than an inferior chip because the latter has a $10 adapter that saves you a half hour of work.

:?

Anyway, great work, Team Xecuter, and keep the good stuff coming!

If you want to see some marketing propoganda in action goto www.xboxinfocenter.com and read the news posts. Maybe its because I was still a little high but I got some good laughs from it. I don't get why they call the X3 a gen. 3 mod chip when their own site defines gen 3 as:

"The Latest Modchip Generation out there, the key points of these Chips
are focused on an Operating System booting up from the chip, no more
hardware dipswitches required, and EEPROM Backup. Beyond there
goes HTTP Server and FTP Server and even one of them has a Samba
Server (Windows Shares) running along with a client. " from http://evox.xboxhackz.net/XIC/modinstall.htm

The hypocrocy of these guys drives me nuts.

From the Xenium article I quote:

"Let us paint it a little more clearly for you. Would you buy a BMW X3 with no engine?"

Is this X3 meant to be a little swipe at team Xecuter?

Anyway just a thought, but I only use xecuter chips as they rule :D

Alright im going to step out there and admit that i like there chips and i also like the X3, Just because i post here doesn't make me a Xecuter only customer. In my personal opinion, i love the config live feature with all the little bells and whistles. Now im sorry if people here are going to take offence into what i have to say but this is it. I believe that because of the OS's out there, that gives the competitors one step up. The Xenium OS is probably the most user friendly install out there. I know that as long as EVERYONE follows the tuts that shouldn't have a problem. I never like switches on pc's and don't like them on modchips. Don't get me wrong i love my X3, but i also love my Xenium. Team X has a foot on the other guys in the areas of development, production, and accessories. That is why i purchased my X3. Now for all you out there that "HATE" Team Xenium. For its general purpose. TO PLAY BACKUPS. You all know that it does what it has too and its a very easy install!

Come on guys. They are both good chips. We don't need to start bashing them just because their PR guy is a bit high strung. I've got both chips and they are both quite nice. Extremely high build quality and they are both packed full of features and very easy to install. So lets not start another bash against *insert chip name here*

My issue isn't with the chip itself, but with the dishonest things they're implying. Sure the Xenium OS may make it easier for someone to do an install and upgrade, but at the end of the day the Xenium user is going to want to run XDK based binaries, and their "legal" OS won't cut it at that point. So users have to search through irc to find a download site just the same as any xecuter user.

To say "installed and it works, you're done" just isn't true unless you're going to run Linux. Period.

No matter how wondrous their OS may be, at the end of the day they're hamstrung by and dependent on other groups' bioses.

And I suspect Team Xecuter is withholding their X2 bios for 1.6 for this reason. ;) Would you put hard work towards making your competitor's chip run better?

There is a thread here on xbox-scene of people basically ranting about the bullshit xenium is pulling. Someone compliments these forums. I rant like hell. Check it out if you wanna see how badly this campaign is backfiring.

its all pathetic - i couldnt care less

its laughable that anyone can even begin to compare the X3 to the Xenium - its way ahead at every level for what the scene REALLY wants.

How can anyone say X3 is any harder to install or flash than any other mod ? its piss easy ?

and wait till the new X3 bios is released - that will make x3 owners cream :)

I have to say that I "physically enjoyed" both Xecuter's latest news release, as well as their response to a thread on the Xodus forum on xbox-scene.

One nit (sorry dude) - You mention that the crystal and black X3CPs are both being released on the 20th? Are you still planning on releasing a green one sometime in January?

Thanks!

back in the day when i was looking around for which modchip to buy for my own box, initially i considered a xenium ice, since i didnt know much about modchips and what to do after instal i started searching around for what needs to be done.. it seemed like a good choice for a newbie, no soldering, no messy bios stuff.. but every post i saw had at least one person jabbing other brands, then someone jabbed x3.. all curious, i checked out and signed up here, read into the chip and thought to myself "i dont get it, whats the fuss about it seems piss easy to me", i later discovered my box was a 1.6, and that i'd need to solder it into the machine anyway, so to me i felt the X3 was just as good a purchase, Gotta solder the chip in whichever i choose right?

Ordered my chip and bust open notepad, and began researching what would need to be done to get it up and running with no problems at all, taking notes in notepad of various things, dip switch positions, bios versions, etc, then eventually decided on evox installer just to make things easier.

eventually the chip arrived on the same day some broken hunk of pcb arrived i had bought off ebay, i got out my 15watt soldering iron and practiced with spare bits of wire until i was confident, then i installed the chip, first time, no problem, and i've done 999 more since.
after installing i plugged everything back in and fired it up to be greeted by the lovely blue "i'm alive!" flashbios screen.. i chucked in the network cable and rebooted, and just as i was told on these forums, i typed in the address in internet explorer, selected the bios file ending in _v16, and flashed, and that my friends, is history.

anyone that says x3 is hard to install needs to consider the age/skill of the installer, and if they were bothered to read up before even touching the screws on their machine.

Xenium appeals to people who just want to slap the chip in and play copied games without any problems, Which is all very well but whats the point of chipping your box if you wont know the true potential of the mod?, in taking a few hours to read up on it, i was both able to easilly install the mod (my fiurst xbox mod ever), and get it up and running, as well as know almost everything about it.

as far as i'm concerned if your chipping an xbox for the first time, and you're stupid enough not to take a few hours reading about it before actually trying, then go for the xenium, those with any brains will choose the x3
