The Chip is On, or is it?

Just got a 2.6CE on a version 1.0 XBOX. I went for the solderless install, and I have it connected. When I boot up, the blue light on the chip comes on, and the light on the front panel comes on Green or Red. This chip was supposed to come pre-flashed with a BIOS, but all I get is the MS Dash. I have updated BIOSs and Dashboards, but I can't seem to get to the chip. I tried holding in the white button while booting, but still MS. What am I doing wrong?

You still have to do that with a Solderless connection? Is there a better guide? I looked at the main link which says 2.6, but its all about the 3.0.

The forum wont let me edit my previous post. I found out where I had to plug the d0 in to make it work, thanks! (I had to look at a 2.3 guide)

Now on to the next problem, it came up once, but it was like it was in high def on a non high def screen, (4 different pictures all different shades) So I thought the High definition settings were on as they were before, and things werent looking so good. So I turned it off, booted with the chip disabled to the MS dash, but it wasnt set high. Rebooted to go back to the chip, now I am getting the dreaded 3 flashes and a Frag. What did I do wrong now?

Ok, the 3-frag was the points were loose, sensative little buggers. Now I am back to the video being off. It is booting, but its two black screens with grey letters. I don't know if I am the only one who has ever set their video settings to High Def and the TV didn't support it, but thats what it looks like. Does the chip detect that I have the High Def video connector and default to that?

Are you using the standard RCA cables? The chip doesn't deal with the video settings, so that isn't the problem.

definetly try using the standard cables as mentioned before

holding down the white button when booting up will have no effect with the x2.6 chip or bios as that feature only comes in the X3 bios

I did the standard cables, and it worked like a charm. Was able to get in and get going, and everythign works great. I am amazed at how well some of these applications were written, really slick stuff. If Microsoft makes the 360 more like the XBMC it will be an awesome console.
