THE E71 ERROR

what is up guys i had this rgh slim for about a good 7 weeks and to day it started to e71 on me the soldering is good because it booted up on sunday but all of the sudden it boots to the E71 error i know it isnt the dash because on sunday it booted 14699 no problem
and i am not a noob AND it also boots in xell reloaded
can anyone save me :smile:

i find that if i have a usb/disc in at boot which contains homebrew e.g. dashlaunch, it E71's.remove any peripherals and then get back

now it boots i cant have a usb connect with FSD

simply put it on the Hdd or IntMu and adjust dashlaunch accordingly

edit: or wait until it boots, then insert usb and boot fsd from xexmenu

Might be a problem with either FSD or dashlaunch. Check dashlaunches paths in the ini and you could try reinstalling them.

I don't dvise sticking FSD on the intmu. I used to do this for clients when they bought 4gb models so it was all set up for them but then it was pointed out that the database can get pretty large pretty quickly and eat up the 4gb in no time

you're not getting me. to show you, make a new .txt file and change the file extension to .xex . now place this on the root of a usb pen, insert into ANY xbox and observe the E71 in all its glory.

the xbox doesnt see it as valid on boot, so spits an error.

nothing to do with configs or anything of that sort

I once received a rgh slim with this error after two month I opened up and flux hadent been cleaned and it had corroded all the pads round the Hana chip took ages to clean up and repair

Why would I make a text file into an executable? That would just be pointless. Of course it would throw up that error but that isn't likely to be his problem if FSD ran for the previous period of time.

If the config files point to the wrong places that would throw an e71 as well maybe not in this case but it is known

its the proof of concept. if the xbox detects an unknown or invalid xex (unsigned etc) it will E71.

i was explaining it to this specific case which was exactly identical to mine.

it could be a whole host of things causing this error, it could even be a bug.

OP, is the freestyledash.xex in a folder, or at the root? if its at root, put it in a folder. that should fix it
