I just got the X3_3108 Bios. My chip is the Xecuter 3

When I press A on Enable network flashing it shows this screen.

[nforce]nforce: MAC Address 00:50:F2:BB:6A:49
100-Mbs Link, Full Duplex
TCP/IP Initialized.
DHCP FAILED - Falling back to 192.168.0.99

Now, when i try to link to it (192.168.0.99) using Internet explore.
It shows this on the screen:

[nforce]nforce: MAC Address 00:50:F2:BB:6A:49
100-Mbs Link, Full Duplex
TCP/IP Initialized.
DHCP FAILED - Falling back to 192.168.0.99
bbbb

It then adds itself 4 "b's". Is their something rong with my connection or is their something rong with my chip?????

My guess is it's your connection. Make sure your PC is in the same network group as the Xbox i.e. 192.168.0.XX

The xx can be an number that is NOT 99.
Are you connecting with a crossover cable or a router? I think router's automatically take number .01 so don't use that either :D

Well, I am using a crossover cable, but the instructions tell me to use the number 192.168.0.99 no madder what. So I dont know what is going rong. Their is one thing that I had to do to make it at least connect. It was make a default IP address and it was something like 647.254.09.116.... If I didnt use that IP, it wouldn't work.

The xbox defaults to 192.168.0.99 Therefore your PC CANNOT be the same IP address. Set your PC to 1 digit different and it should work. The IP you specified is unknown to me. Who or what program told you to use that?!?!

and did it actually work when you used that address?

No site tould me to use that kind of IP address. I just looked up the IP in the command prompt and there it was. So I manually set it to that. Then triied the 192.168.0.99 and it put the 4 "b's" in.

So, If I just put 192.168.0.98 it should work??????

Yep, i think it should work. if you are connecting two pieces of equipment, be they Xbox or Pc's or whatever, they must have Ip's that are close but not identical.

No that is the only file you need to send. But, what version xbox do you have? if you have a 1.6 or a 1.6B you need the v16 plus version of the bios. Also make sure you had the switches in the right position.

Let me know what version and what switch setting you used.

Cheers

Hmmm that's correct bios and correct switch setting. How odd. Download the previous version bios and try flashing that. If that fails go back to bios v 1959. I can't explain that dude!

Im guesing that would be the problem, but I just noticed as i read, that it says the xbox turned on then stayed on. When I have the 1mb bank on and chip enabled the xbox turns on then turns off. I also tryed to do the same with my X2 chip but with a X2 bios and the chip did the same thing. Very weird, but help would be nice!!

Yes, if the chip is disabled the xbox still works but I can only go into my #2 1mb bank (off on off off off) That is the only that goes to the flashbios 3.0.3...

Not on this planet!
Have you got an X3CP or the old X3 black switches? If its the CP then you should have :
Green Blue Blue White White= 1 Meg bios Flash Protect
Green White Blue White White= 1 Meg Bios Flash Protect

OR
RED Blue Blue White White= 1 Meg bios Flash Enable
RED White Blue White White= 1 Meg Bios Flash Enable
