Ok , my friends box appears to be missing a tiny chip (maybe a resistor, im not sure).

Look on the attachment to see missing part, i cirlced it in Blue (just incase u dont see, its below the Xyclops Chip)

Would this my X3 not to boot (or Xbox in general for that matter) ?

Can it be fixed, or is it not worth fixing, or is my box pretty much F'ed!

Send me a larger picture with more resolution and some of the surrounding area and I might be able to make a GOOD guess of the cap value. More than likely its a decoupling cap 0.1mf or 0.01mf for the Xyclops chip but without more detail and the green lines in the way I cant tell.

i accidentally did the same thing u did, i tried fixing it but had no luck so i said screw it. put it back together and nothing seems to be wrong. i turn the chip on and it works, i turn it off and it works. ive read from people that have had the exact opposite so i dont know what the deal is with it or what it does.

have you tried turning on your xbox and played a game. Try that first, and if it works great.
