My original drive has been making a racket for a while now when I try and play burned games. Here recently I started getting a dirty disk error more often than now. So, I went and purchased a Hitachi drive as a replacement but the spoofing bit.... actually, it is trying to get the drive key, is driving me nuts.
Ok.... I tried using both XBM and iPrep. Every time I go and try to snag the orig.bin file, all it does is sit there and do nothing.
I unplugged every drive with the exception of the MS 25 (powered by the xbox) and the USB drive which was created by XBM and iPrep.
I have tried both Xtreme52 and iextreme 1.0 fw and they both do squat. After selecting the Xtreme drive (master) all it does is sit there and do nothing. I don't have the original as it was a friend who I am no longer in contact with that did the flashing for me.
Anyone??? I am about to the point where I am ready and willing to ship off the original drive to someone who can get the key for me.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have tried every tutorial I can find on the subject but no one seems to be addressing my problem. *sigh*
The only thing I can think of that I might be doing wrong is that my rig recognizes the drive only by selecting Dual something or other (I am at work now) in the IDE device list. I read something about that it will work only if using the SCSI device.
*dunno*
The motherboard I am using is a Asus P5LD2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
