Hey guys, I've answered a lot of questions in the past, now I'm looking for an answer myself. I have a 1.6 Mobo and power supply in a 1.0 case with an X3 chip. I have no power up at all. If I open up the box and jumper the White Wire(& or Enable) to 5VDC the box will boot up. I can then use the front panel power switch to turn the box off, but it will not turn on again with the power button. Is there a change in the front panel buttons on the 1.6 boxes? I know on the old boxes they used a PIC chip to run the front panel lights and power-up sequence. I see that chip is now missing/moved. Any help would be great.....

you say jumper the white wire & or enable to 5V ...do u mean pin 14 on the header??
Not sure how that does anything but clearly it does??

Doesn't matter really whats on / or not on the motherboard as the switch panel on a 1.0-1.5 and 1.6's are the same. Hence the pwr reset board supplied with the x3 fits all versions without modifications so this should work.

What happens if you bypass the pwr/reset board supplied with the x3 i suspect it maybe a problem here.

The power supply I have is a ground wire on pin 14. My enable is on pin 20. If I jump a wire between 20 and say 1,2 or 3 (5v) I can get my machine to boot up. The power button will then work, but only to turn the machine off. Which seems to rule out the front control board. Unless there is a change (which I doubt). If I put in the jumper it will boot to the X3. If I hold the power button then apply the jumper it will boot to the original bios. If I hold both power and eject then jumper, it bots to the backup...just like any other machine, other than the jumper of course. As for your last question. It doesn't mater if the X3 board is in or not. Jumper still required to start. Any other suggestions?

whats the history on this ..a 1.6B board with x3 and PSU in a 1.0 case?
Has the psu /MBoard ever worked together... sounds like a prob with the motherboard as the PSU is not getting its return.

I know this one ! the connector block that comes off the power supply board is wired differently on the 1.6 than earlier versions thats why you got power probs

I'm happy to see you are so excited about this... :) But both the m/b and the p/s are from a 1.6... any other suggestions would be great though....
