Hello...I have a v1.0 xbox with the X3 modchip. I flashed the xecuter bios onto the chip and for several weeks it worked great. Then one day I turned my xbox on and two incorrect things occured. First, there was audio but no video, and second, my xbox automatically booted to the dashboard (UnleashX) instead of the X3 bios. I have no idea what has caused this. I've tried reflashing the same banks (1&2) with the same X3 bios as well as the latest X3 bios and nothing has changed. So I flashed the same banks with Evox and that worked to perfection. After that I reflashed over the Evox bios with the latest X3 bios (which I might add is working perfectly in a friends xbox) and yet I am still having the same problems.

So I am currently using the Evox bios (bank 2) with UnleashX and XBMC, and about 50% of the time I reboot (powering off and on manually) my xbox freezes at the start-up screen, just completely ridiculous.

I don't know what to do or try, any help or ideas would be considered most excellent.

Thanks.

I have no idea why it occured like that but it sounds like you may have to reset your X3 eeprom unless someone else have a better idea. But before that , try loading an older X3 bios version like 1959 into your 5678 banks (off on off off off) and see if it does the same. If it does, then definitely you need to reset your X3 eeprom.

sounds more like the soldering is bad on pins 13 & 14. or x3 not seated properly
I know it did work but poor soldering degrades overtime untill its making poor connectivity.
Or the box has been moved and the x3 does not sit correctly
This is classic pin 13 & 14 probs ..proof being that 256k bios works great whilst two versions of x3 bios give audio & no video.
(the x3 bios utilises i2c bus (13 & 14) for CFL whereas the evox bios does not)
u can read about this here

Check your soldering again especially those two pins
