Thanks for all the lovely replies. Just to put the record straight, what i originally posted i believed in good faith after reading the rules that it was appropriate and a good place to seek some advice.
Then having a MOD close the thread because i'm not using TX products (although i've spent quite a bit in the past on repair kits and probes). surely that goes against the whole idea of this being a forum?
If you dont want my kind of post then please go through your posts and start deleting are closing those as they too are not within your unwritten rule.
And having a dig about me being a spoilt 14 year old only belittles this whole site.
If you seriously believe that your mods act and moderate this forum justly and fairly then i wish you all good luck.
I do believe that you have come down on me quite harshly and please put my previous reply of "prick" into context. It was a knee jerk reaction and i regret doing it, but having read all the replies it belongs there.
In reply: If you think it's just and fair that a forum designed to HELP T-X customers with their T-X products should help every Tom, d**k or Harry with their custom configuration, you're deluded. Your initial post is a perfect example of how NOT flash a drive and without using products we support, how (or more importantly why) should we help?
These forums are paid for by T-X and supported by us. You think you have a 'right' for help? If you have a CK3, then you should be using it. Only an IDIOT will be using an xbox to power their drive when they have a CK3 at hand. All kinds of problems come from using a console, up to and including irregular power depending on what the console tries to do with the drive or console shutting down due to no activity on AV socket.
Above all, your question would have been answered at least a hundred times on just about every xbox forum out there. But why go to all the trouble of looking and searching (which might have taken you best part of the day) when you can just play the 'spoon' card and start a new thread?
No.
Maybe you should look at the amount of effort the mods actually put into writing guides and tutorials, including the lengths we go to in order to assist others. I've actually purchased products (out of my own pocket) in the past just so I can help someone I've never met. They're a T-X customer, so help is what they get.
Finally, to put it into context your comment of me being a prick. In light of your attitude and maturity compared to the unsung efforts put in by those here with free time, I would retort with calling you a c**t, however you don't have the capacity or depth to give pleasure.
