1st: FLUX ...'nuff said.
2nd: Get a nice Goot soldering iron with a Temperature control and tiny tip (<1mm preferable)
3rd: clean dust off board, scrape with knife, clean again
4th: dont strip 10cm off the insulation. only 5mm is more than enough
5th: Tin with solder
6th: Use a 63/37 solder. It doesnt have a liquid phase so joints are strong and you wont get try joints.
optional: Get some solder paste (Mechanics Solder Paste), dip wires into it, solder. Done.
Please dont screw up your slims because of improper tools or solder.
