To Frag or Not To Frag?

hey all, my xbox is tempermental, lol. Sometimes its ok but other times it frags when i turn the power on (powers on then off and repeats), im usin 2.6 lite with an upgraded hard drive, anyone have any ideas?

the the 2 main causes for frags are a bad bios flash or a dodgy install.

most likey to be an install problem, check and recheck your soldering. If you have gone solderless try reseating your adapter.

would it die straight away if its a bad bios install? its just that sumdays it behaves and others it doesnt

i would say it is not a bad bios as it would either work or never work.

i would put it down to the soldering. check it out

If the soldering checks out, it could be the switches. Make sure they are plugged in completely.

my xbox would frag on and off. I didn't know what caused it, but sometimes it would frag, and sometimes it would work. Long story short, it turns out the female connector for the power plug had loose traces, and they were causing it to frag randomly (or rather, when the power plug wasn't positioned corrently). two little dabs of solder later and it's right as rain. This may or may not be your problem, but the fact that it's 'tempermental' suggested to me that you would like you know this.
