I got my hands on a BB 512mb Jasper today with power supply and VGA lead for £24 and all that was the problem was open tray which I found to be the worm gear inside the drive was seized so that is sorted and all working. So i thought this was a pretty good deal. When I booted it up I then realised that it is on 2.0.7371 dash...... And the manufacture date is march 2009 so am pretty sure it is jtagable but will read the NAND to confirm. My dilemma now though is do I do it or not as I already have two rgh jaspers that work perfect so really have no need for a jtag but it seems such a shame to update it. It has never even been flashed and is completely stock which is pretty rare these days..l

What the hell shall I do, tempted to just put in the cupboard for a rainy day lol

I would say either keep it as it is for a rainy day or Jtag it. I'm still using my Jtag falcon from brand new while my 512mb RGH Jasper is all boxed up.

Jtag it or sell it to somebody willing to pay top dollar for an exploitable Jasper, that'd be my suggestion. Myself, I'm waiting on a certain bit of software (not Fusion) to be compatible with BB Jaspers so I can toss this Xenon JTAG once and for all..JTAGs will still have their uses for homebrew.

Nobody will pay top dollar for a 7371 Jasper anymore.

Since the release of RGH, those exploitable JTAG consoles have since reduced in value drastically because they can be exploited on ANY dashboard.

I would Jtag it and sell the thing. You already have a glitched box. Why not give someone else the opportunity to get addicted to this scene and coerce them into TX products.

Once they get an idea of how crazy this scene is they will spread the word like wildfire and who knows maybe some of their friends will contact you with boxes that need a glitch done on them...

Not to disagree, but I saw somebody pay just shy of $200 shipped for a 7371 Jasper a week ago on eBay. There are some people who don't want to mess with an RGH install, or who think JTAGs are easier, or just are living under a rock and don't know about RGH.

I would put it in the cupboard for a rainy day you never know fusion may be done on tagged systems one day then it would be rare a tagged 512 jasper running fusion wonders how much that would go for . But before anyone jumps in I did state maybe one day with fusion

I would JTAG it if you already have an RGH. Some of us have to tip our hats to the old school methods. If someone wants a non dual nand hacked box then I would normally recommend a JTAG. Plenty of people don't need the functionality of Fusin and will be happy with a box that only ever shows them FSD. Boot times are better and it's free to JTAG or at least pennies rather than the cost of a CR.
