to mod? or not to mod that is the ???

well first of all i have horrible horrible luck, so do i need to actually open up my xbox to mod it? or can i put the firmware on a flashdrive and do it that way, i dont mind voiding the warranty but the idea of opening up the xbox well i am more than sure i will screw it up. so do i have to open it to mod it?

Yes, but I think there is such a thing as a connectivity kit which I dont think you need to open the console to do but im not 100% sure on that. But I opened mine and flashed it with my pc sata card, And believe me opening the Xbox360 is the easiest thing you can do, it comes apart very very easy. Theres a video guide on this site I believe which will show you how easy it is.

i had the same worry if you need help pm me i did it no prob you 360 will not screw up by opening it and yes you have to but if you start touching and taking things out of the inside theres were you become screwed

Yes, you have to open the 360 no matter what. Don't believe what anybody else tells you. If you see something like the Blaster which claims you don't have to open the 360, read the fine print. You still have to open the 360 at least once to install the Blaster and only then do you no longer have to open it.

ok i got a laptop (i know) how do i flash my harddriver without having to put it in a pc? or do i have to put it into a pc?

For one, you need to read the tutorial because you would know that you figure out what the requirements are for your drive. If you have a samsung, then you will absolutely need a comptible sata controller, if you have a hitachi you will be able to use a usb to sata connector.
