Ok guys you guys have helped me before so i hope you could help me again. here is my problem. it started off when my 360 got the "3 red lights" thats been going around. my 360 wouldn't even turn on anymore so left it alone for like a month. i finally got an idea to buy a mother board from ebay that was working and just swap it with the one i had broken. i did that and it turn on and went to the dash screen. i put a game in and
it gave me this message "TO PLAY THIS DISC PUT IN XBOX 360 CONSOLE". i didn't know what to do i looked at a couple of forums and most of them said the disc drive or the game. i knew it wasn't the game because i tried all my games and it said the same thing. so my other option was to buy another disc drive so i bought another one. i got it today and it was the same sh*t.my 47dj hitachi was hacked but the 59dj isn't. im really stuck here hopefully someone could help me  .here is my hardware:

new motherboard is from july '06
hitachi drive used on it

disc drives: hitachi 47dj
hitachi 59dj

I think all you need to do is set the keys on the motherboard and DVD drive you'll be using to match. You can't just swap parts on the 360, they have unique keys that must match.

Edit - I don't know if you can extract the key from the motherboard or not, you might need the original DVD drive to get it. (I'm sure someone will know this for sure...)

The key in your drives firmware needs to match that of the motherboard, or it will not unlock/allow 360 games to play, as you are seeing. The key is 32 characters or 16-bytes. Whoever you bought the motherboard from should have supplied it. If they did not, you need to get the information from them, including which version of drive came with the motherboard originally to avoid getting E66. You cannot extract this key from the motherboard yet.

Did the user supply this information?

Caster.

Hey sorry guys i was at work and i work long hours. well he gave me the hacked firmware that im guessing he had with the motherboard and his drive. inside the folder it has all the files for the firmware. it has the key, now,was and 59_23 bin files. now i used this for my 47dj drive and by the looks of the 59_23 bin file he had a 59dj drive. would that have something to do with it? good thing though is that the drive i bought is a 59dj so i think ima try that firmware with my new drive but im going to wait and see what you guys think first. thanks again guys!
