You can't make a sequel to your Tomb Raider prequel, Crystal Dynamics. That's just... wrong, like Marty McFly sleeping with his own mother. Alas, this unnatural prospect is a very probable one, according to global brand director Karl Stewart. "The goal of this vision was to introduce you to a story of how Lara becomes an adventurer and a true Croft," he commented during a Reddit AMA last night, as reported by PlayStation Lifestyle. "Future games will be defined by who Lara has become as a result of who she is at the end of this experience."

Future games will also, Stewart promised, continue to experiment with multiplayer - very much the least well-received aspect of the reboot. "The decision to do a multiplayer actually came from Crystal," he said. "We truly believe that it was and is the right decision to make.
"We looked to the future of where MP is heading and made the call to begin the process of setting the foundations. Everyone has to start somewhere and this is our first time." We can expect more multiplayer map packs for Tomb Raider, he went on, but "at this time there are no plans for single player DLC". Boo hiss.

That's pretty much made my mind up to abandon this series.

Once upon a time, you could buy a game and play it to completion without needing to spend extra for Internet or online subscription. TR seems to have fallen foul of this too, which is essentially a SP game.

At the end of the day it's another income-generator instead of spending time/money on a deeper single-player experience.

Crystal - don't become EA.

I've also started to boycott games which release DLC on the same day as the game itself. They treat it like a license to print money. If it's ready around launch, add it already.

We pay to play an unfinished game, then pay even more to make it complete. I hate DLC it's bad enough 360 users get shafted £6 a month for the privlage of live when ps3 users get it free (really can't believe you need Xbl gold to watch bloody Netflix!). Now developers seem to rush to release a sub standard game then charge to Finnish it off.

In your Nand
talk about DLC, dead space 3 DLC is a prime example of a rip off, micro transition is bullshit and a lame excuse. That DLC should've been part of the game.

I Love TR and I am just playing the single player ( Currently completed but 80% treasures etc found )

When I finally get around to 100% I will trade it in for something else. Still love the game though.

Lol I finished it last night with 72% completion, I must admit the last few parts seemed to drag on and on.
