What is actualy the difference between 1.6 and 1.6b. How Can you tell if its B or not and is there anything special you have to do to install the X3 on a B version. Sorry if I have missed the answers to these questions.

WOW, thanks for pointing out the obvious. No offense, I have searched, seems people are confused themselves. Why dont you make you post count rise up supplying the answer instead of thread crapping. Thank again for you attempt.

I think the only real difference is the RAM chips used on the mobo. All versions 1.0 - 1.6 use Samsung. The 1.6b uses some other cheaper brand (Hynix I think).

Thanks m8, That helps. The thing is that I find confusing is the different opinions about witch FlashBios works with 1.6b. I have a couple of chips and I doing a 1.6b install. Seemed like in the earlier installs, the x3 said flashbios 2.0.1 or something. So I hope I will have no problems. Can this be confirmed?

I have never done a 1.6b, but that said, I believe the 1.6b issues are to do with RAM signal timings (Have to be slower for the cheap Hynix chips). FlashBIOS 3.0.3 fixed it for 1.6b so you will have to make sure FlashBIOS 3.0.3 is preinstalled before you try and install it in a 1.6b otherwise it wont boot to the FlashBIOS screen.

This may also be of help:

Yea, I just installed the chip. When I boot it, the xbox led is solid green but no video. When I press the power button for a second to disable it, The box boots fine. Is this a prety solid clue that I need to flash it with FlashBios 3.0.3.

OOps, Im sorry for talking about this in a non 1.6b forum. Please MOD, can you mve there please. Thank You

Yep, you have probably got a chip with 3.0.1 preinstalled. You must have 3.0.3

You can download it here: http://www.teamxecuter.com/index.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=6

You will not be able to reflash it on the 1.6b though, you will have to put the chip into a 1.0-1.6 and flash both Bank1 and the BackupBank, then reinstall it back into the 1.6b and you should be right. Hope this helps :D

BTW, thanks for the support there. I know how that can be on forums. Some people just really feel like being part of the problem instead of the solution. Peace out br0.

New Games Require BOOKLEY KEY?

So what I have been told/checked out is now games like "MADDEN 2010" no require a CD KEY from the booklet to play on xbox live.

I haven't been here in a bit, but this was brought to my attention and I wanted to get some input on this.

Thanks -

Re: New Games Require BOOKLEY KEY?

yes, this was developed in response to the widespread modding so that EA could get some money off people who use backups/buy used games

it costs 10 bucks and as far as i've known, there isn't a keygen

Re: New Games Require BOOKLEY KEY?

you just have to try the online function, and when you do that it will ask you to buy the code with msoft points or a credit card

it only works once and it only works for that profile

Re: New Games Require BOOKLEY KEY?

I've always thought to myself ages ago why all companies did not do this, it would be an easy solution to eliminate most of the modding community.
Wonder why they have left it for so long.
