Im going to do the reset glitch on my old xbox 360 (HDMI model). I believe the following list has most of the tools I need along with some I dont, Please tell me if im missing ANYTHING or have something I dont need. I believe this will be the most effective and easy method but not totally sure.

Have: CK3 pro
360usb pro (to flash the drive/dont think ill need for jtag)
probe v3(wont even need)

Need:
Nand-x
coolrunner chip

The following items im not sure if ill need due to the nand-x. This was from the fat reset glitch PDF but it could be outdated

USB SPI Programmer to dump/flash the Xbox360's NAND
XC2C64A CoolRunner-II CPLD (aka Digilent C-mod)
Socket for the CPLD
Xilinx JTAG Programmer cable

soldering stuff

Also is there a site that anyone recommends to get ALL this stuff in one order?

Okay im going to save you so a mod or someone more cocky flames you for being a "noob".

To do the reset glitch you need to be able to dump the nand (nand-x), create the .ecc file with python in a cmd, then flash to the nand.

Then you need to install the coolrunner or reset glich hack chip (tons out there). Phats are 6 wires and slim are 7 wires. The Xecuter Coolrunner should come out soon but dont ask when because ull just get flamed.

Once installed you can boot into xell! So far there are no booters to load into a modded kernal or what ever so dont ask for one of them either im sure there will be one released soon but remember the Reset glitch hack mod is in its erly stages so just give it time.

There are a few emulators out there already you can boot into from the xell screen like the n64 mupen emulator.

Oh and with the xecuter coolrunner you wont need any of the things on the list at the bottom, and you dont need anything you already have. But im not sure if the coolrunner will be programable by the nand-x or if its already programed or if theres a cable for it.

Anyway goodluck!

Ohh ok thanks though, modded kernal booters would be the thing that allow me to play games right. Essentially what I wanted it for was to run games off the hard drive. I hadnt realized how new the reset glitch actually was. As you put it the coolrunner basically will be standalone and that and the nand-x should be the only thing I need (as long as the coolrunner is programmable via the nand-x)

Alright cool...what exactly does xell allow me to do though sorry I know its a noob question. am I able to really do anything with it?
Xell will allow you to get your lost drive keys and run a few emulators for now. There are rumors of a lot of development going on that only time will tell.

Xell is only showing information and booting the .ecc emulators people are putting in. Until there is a loader released to be able to boot .xex menu's its not of much use for now.

Once there is a booter skys the limit from what I understand. You can use large externals to hold your games on, you can run nice dashboard mods like RXE by teamFSD. Looking forward to putting my originals onto a harddrive instead of making backups and being able to load that sexy sexy dashboard by FSD.

What do you mean "normal" hdd? 3.5inch and 2.5inch are the only hard drive sizes i've come across, laptop ones and xbox 360 ones are 2.5inch to my understanding (someone correct me if im wrong). Anyway as long as its either connecting through the usb ports (hdd is in a usb enclosur) or its connecting through the actual xbox 360 hard drive plug at the top what ever its called, it will work.

Sum up my answer: you can use any hard drive as long as it connects to your xbox through a way that is recognisable by the system.

JTAG xboxs can use the 2.5 internal for regular storage but can boot backup games off a 2tb 3.5inch through USB

Also, the usual is 2.5 and 3.5 but there is a 2.75 being the 1tb+ drives for laptop being that they don't fit into normal bays since they are slightly thicker.
