why need save log?
because if there is a problem with it after flashing, the log will tell the experts here where you have gone wrong. making it easier for them to help you sort your problems out.

my 3 top tips are.
1 follow the jf guide (in the jf documentation folder),
2 have the tutorial open to follow for reference whilst doing the job,
3 SAVE & BACKUP EVERYTHING

Seems there would be a lot more than 3.....

1) Ensure you have the right equipment to do the job
2) Ensure you are familiar with said equipment and hardware to be used on
3) Read the manual time and time again, and have it open at the steps you are taking
4) Double check everything above (if you wanna be cautious)
5) Don't be afraid to ask to for help... that what the forums are for - But DO make sure you have searched the forums first, so many people have had exactly the same issue time and time again

1. Read the tutorials. e.g. follow the jrunner guide
2. Search the forum for similar problems and get answers.
3. Practice with equipment and hardware to become familiar with them.
Why would he follow the jrunner guide to flash f/w to his dvd drive?, And how is he gonna practice flashing equipment, You either flash a drive or you don't.

Maybe you mean the jungleflasher tutorial included when you download it.

1.) Always use Jungle Flasher / JF Tutorial
2.) X360 USB Pro will make your life easier (especially with the slim)
3.) E-mail yourself a copy of your DVD key

I know the tuts say to use a molex power supply to power the ck3i but mine came with a usb to molex adapter and an extra mini usb to usb cable to power the drive. I was able to do some flashing but tray would not open and a hit 79 dvd cd would not play.
I sent it back for a replacement from my dealer thinking it was bad, anyway I got the new one and used a powered molex power supply and the thing works like a charm!
I was new to these devices and just figured they wouldnt sell you a power supply that didnt work properly, or at least tell you it may not work and sell you a power supply for it or to hook to spare molex in the pc.. I guess I should of tried it from a spare molex in the pc first... dohhhhh
Sigh

Of course the USB molex wouldnt have worked for eject or playing a cd, it's only 5v !

Eject/Play cd requires a full 12v supply

This is well documented, don't blame it on anything other than the fact you didn't read how that particular cable worked.

1- Follow the JF tutorial
2- Save your key in 2 different media
3- Do things slowly specially when unlocking Slims
4- Don't panic as long as you have your key. It's fixable

1. If you are doing multiple consoles, label each one (JA01,ZE02, XE03, FA04) and save the firmware and drive key in a separate folder for each. This way, re-flashing will be cake.
2. Never use your Xbox to power the drive. Suck it up and buy the TX products.
3. Follow the instructions to the letter. The tuts are perfect and have never failed me.
4. Don't spoof drives.
5. Never throw hardware away. As your knowledge expands, you will learn how to fix what you once thought to be broken. If not, I am sure someone will want it!

That is all I can think of!

Don't enable modder mode! :p

I have it enabled and I saw a friend of me struggle like madness when trying to flash a drive following the tuts.
