Total noob here lookin for A's to Q's

I just got my box and gettin the X3 with a 80Gig Seagate in a matter of weeks so I would like some Q's answered plz.

1. I hear about FTP...what is it?

2. where can I get the cable to run from the xbox to PC to burn games?

3. the Avalanch, can a dashboard from them work with the X3?, if so how would I be able to get them to the box other than burning them on a CD and copy?

got more ?'s but not off the top of my head

thanks a million and what I have heard and read the X3 is PIMP and wanna learn more about what it can do and all the other fun sh*t

1: file transfer protocol

2: you can buy a crossover cable at radio shack or wally world or any pc store.( that is to connect your xbox straight to your pc without a router or hub) If you have a router or hub, then you need a straight through cable.

3: any dashboard will work with the x3, and to get them on your xbox use ftp.

It a way to network to the xbox. The program that is widely used is Flashfxp. Do a search on the internet and you'll find it.
Do a search on this site for network/networking. Also do a search on www.xbox-scene.com. Do a search fir MIRC also.

you don't burn games on the xbox they are burned on the PC. You can COPY games to the xbox but you don't need a crossover cable for that.
Check the link in the quick help section on the home page on this site named "how to create an xbox disc" or something like that.

The chip has nothing to do with installing a new dashboard so any dash will work with any chip including the X3.
You can FTP (there it is again) to the xbox with the X3 and send it over that way. Check the STICKY'S in the X3 forums.
