I am totally new to the xbox-scene, I have a modded Wii and thought about modding my 360 today, so here are the questions I have...

What is the easiest and cheapest way to get your 360 to play backup games?
Can you be banned from xbox live for using this method?
Can you use a laptop for firmware flashing?
Do I have to buy any cables, etc?
