Figured i should ask before i start. What wires can i not trim down to size? Or is it ok to trim all of them?

Im sorry about how vague that was. Im installing an rjtag. The wires i was wondering about are the ones that go from the r-jtag chip to the board. The D E F & K wires.

best to keep all wires as short and neat as possible, except the CPU_RST wire, the D pad. That will will vary as you tune your glitch time.

I came across a fairly technical wiki page that discussed how the RGH glitch works. It mentioned keeping the CPU_RST wire away from any of the toroid ferrite cores on the top surface of the board. The alternate CPU_RST point is on the top surface (the regular one is underneath), and that's where I'm currently hooked up.

Of course, my box is a partially-disassembled mess while I install everything, check my soldering, etc. Has anyone ever encountered problems from a CPU_RST wire that drifted too close to one of the toroids?

i put my cpu-rst wire over the fan shroud , but covered thec shroud first with sticky foil tape , make sure you only put it so far down to keep it way from any part of the board , then tape the wire over that , i got better boot times , i done one of my old rgh like that and now it boots faster then a stock xbox

Bollocks to that effort. The reset wire when fitting a *128 based chip seems a lot less finicky. Simply because the instructions used to glitch are of such a large area, the reset is so accurate anyway.

in noob-lish - The code used is great, the reset wire is less vital as you can alter the wave on the 128 based chips very easily to accommodate it.

*N.B. I haven't tried a 3 meter long reset cable to test that theory
