Hi guysI'm new here to the forums.
Long story short I have been modding, repairing and reballing consoles for numerous years now....ive never in my time doing this posted questions on any forum! I've always done my research to resolve the problem without asking questions...

I gave up this time as i have a real curly issue with a slim trinity. 250gb model without onboard 4gb

Problem: i picked up the console cheap with the issue of the console freezing 100% of the time on startup, with the ribbons curling around the screen before it gets to the X ball.
Here's the curly bit,
1:If i remove the hard drive it seems to boot but no audio or video, optical port turns on but get no ROL circulation or controller sync.
This is all it does without the hdd installed.

2:with the hdd in it freezes where stated..the hdd works fine in another console and i have formatted it.

3: if i remove the wifi adapter, hdd in i get rdod and error code e76 1030...never had an issue with removing the wifi and the console not booting.

4: if i turn the console on with hdd in and pull the hdd as the audio port lights up,it will boot all the way through to the world X and as it tries to roll into the dash it rdod with error e68(hdd i know) but its not plugged in

5: if i put another hdd in and try boot it just boots a black screen with no ROL circulation

What i've done:
Reflowed the cgpu,sb and hana with no change what soever

I'm leaning towards a bad SB...i notice the sb gets so hot that you really cant touch it...hotter than usual...the hana seems to get hotter than a hana usually would and the wifi card gets hotter than most too....

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Before reading that you reflowed the southbridge, I was about to suggest doing so. Trinity southbridges don't get really hot (as Coronas do) so yeah, maybe replacing it is the solution, I'd do that.

Good luck!
