I have a rather odd issue, none that anyone else has had so far (from my searches), my Trinity will only boot into XeLL with the DVD drive connected, not xeBuild. With the DVD drive removed, it will boot into xeBuild and XeLL fine, but with it plugged in, it refuses to boot into XeBuild. Anyone have any suggestions with this?

*Notes*
*Using alternate Post-Out (console came with regular burned off)
*Repaired Stby_Clk trace (came damaged)
*DVD drive is working, not broken*

yeah, i don't see why not, it does say for use with any lead free solder and thats what i use for soldering, plus you only need to use very little on the pads then clean it up with isopropyl.

correct, touch the iron onto the pad then quickly feed the solder in, but not onto the iron itself just the pad and the solder will run towards the heat which is the iron.

Try routing wires differently this happened on my jasper so I had to move the wires away from the DVD drive power leads. I don't know about slims but it's worth a try

Well, since it's a slim, there's not really any way to move the wires out of the way. I have tried moving (and isolating CPU_RST), no luck. Stby_Clk does not have an alternate on the Trinity (at least not one that has worked when I tried), and then the other wires can only be routed by going under the board.

Of course they can be routed differently, and bumping threads will only get you an infraction

I'm using the alternate HANA now, still no difference. Why would it prevent the Xbox from loading the kernel, but not XeLL?

because xell doesnt need much info to boot up un like a kernel

That has 0 relevance to why it wouldn't work. Without the DVD drive, it will still load the kernel, with it will not. The DVD drive sounds like it's resetting fine (and it's a brand new PCB).

Thanks for the help guys (those who didn't jack the thread), but it's not going to work with the DVD drive. After doing a little bit of observation/testing, the 2 on-board SATA connections are shot. The HDD will not work properly (just infinitely restarts the Xbox), and the DVD drive is not detected in XeLL, so that's why it prevents it from booting, as it tries to reset the SATA connection.
