I want to RGH this console and am planning on purchasing the Xecuter CR3 Pro V1.0s Full Post - Ultimate Kit, along with the Xecuter Demon so that I can run dual NAND. This console is a 4GB Slim with a manufacture date of 4-20-2011. Without me knowing, my son just updated the dashboard yesterday to the latest and greatest 2.0.16547.0 My question is will I need the Xecuter DGX to retrieve my CPU Key due to the updated dashboard? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why don't you just get a Slim Proto V2 and a JRP V2?
The CR3 Pro kit has been discontinued and I don't think resellers have any more stock left (I could be wrong).

So the Slim Proto V2 is the successor to the CR3 Pro then? I will still need the Demon to allow dual nand? I want my sons to still be able to play live with the retail nand. Will I be able to do this with the Demon? Also, will RGH'ing this machine give me the ability to get my DVD key off of my drive and RW the FW without purchasing the unlocked PCB? Also, in the future, I would like to be able to connect to and update my DVD FW without opening my box every time. What other hardware will I need to make this possible? Thanks!!!

Yes, the Slim Proto has taken the CR3 Pro's place.
Ignore my post about the JRP V2 - you do not need one if you are going to install an Xecuter DemoN.
The DemoN is designed to allow XBL and RGH to function on the same console.
There is no external method to read/write the firmware of a slim XBOX 360 DVD-ROM - once it is unlocked and written to, you will need to open up the console and write stock firmware to it each time a system update is required.
Is it even necessary to write CFW to the drive if I only plan on running backups from a HDD? Is it even possible to run a backup from a hdd on XBL without being banned? The reason I asked about flashing externally is that I saw a video of a maximus lizard claiming to have the ability to flash the 360 dvd drive externally. It claims to be compatible with the 360 USB as well. Is this not legit?
To run backup's and being connected to XBL without being banned you would need ODE check this thread here about TXs upcoming XODE or you can use other ODEs on the market but they will not be as good as XODE when its released
