LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM Trouble dumping slim 0272 [can't read key??]

When I try to grab the key from the slim I just get this at the Vendor Intro

I have a P55 chipset, and I've previously flashed the drive when it was 9504
however, after the update to 0272 it seems I can't

any ideas??

more than likely chipset issue.

Hmm, so just because of the update of the drive fw from 9504 to 0272 my chipset is now having a problem with it. Seems pretty weird.

I read somewhere people have had success using the same chipset and it working with 0225 drives, just seems a bit weird that it'd work with 0225 drives and not 0272

anyways. thanks. Guess I'll just look into getting yet another bit of kit to read it *roll eyes*

There have been numerous threads about people being able to flash their drive before the update reflash. And not after.

It is defo a chipset issue.

There is something about the newer stock firmware that a lot of chipsets don't like.

I've got this exact same issue. Got the via sata card. Don't want to pay another $60 for the USB thing.

well same thing happened to me, flashed fine as 9504 then when updated to 0272 it no longer worked. got a usb pro and it worked fine so it obviously was the chipset which ive been using for years but for some reason after 0272 it didnt want to work with that

is it even seeing your drive? in my case it was seeing the drive fine but would not put it into vendor mode. if thats the case with you apparently you can still get it into vendor mode by probing mpx01 with the probe 3

probably a compatibility issue after the update yo 0272 then same as me. i didnt even try mpx01 i just ordered the usb pro. tbh im glad i did as id been putting it off but with the amount of drives i flash its dead handy because now i dont need to shut down my pc everytime i want to connect a new drive plus it works for sata harddrives too which was handy for me as ive got a few with games and stuff backed up on them that ive no room for in my pc
