I am by no means a noob (I've flashed plenty of xboxs) but this is the only forum I could post on.

Right now I've been trying to flash a replacement Hitachi v59 drive. I'm using the usb-sata xecuter pro (idk the exact wording) and the ck3 power supply. I can get the drive into mode-B no problem and have it show up as a drive with a letter using win API but whenever I try to restore or flash or dump ram upload gives me an execute failed error. I tried PORT IO as well with no luck. An suggestions? I've been messing around with this drive for a while with no luck and really don't want to brick this one. Thanks

that doesn't mean the pcb is a 59

there is no harm in selecting the other hitachi types and trying to dump with them selected

try the different radio buttons

Ok, so I tried what you said dumping as 78/79, 46/47.... all of them. After I try about three times JF crashes and I get a bunch of activity light from the 360USB. Should I try a different transfer method?

I just tried the classic dump under 58/59. And the firm tool says its a 47 spoofed as a 59! Which looks like you were right about it not being a pcb-59. Is this ok for LT 2.0 online? Haven't done Hitachi's in a while...

and what should be the next step?

On jungle flasher what fw rev does it tell you? If its a 79f you need to burn a unlock disc and have it in the drive while unlocking

i don't ever recommend switching drive types

however, you probably have a xenon xbox, and the majority of xenons have KVs that don't have an OSIG

if you don't know for sure what the original drive was, then you would be taking a risk in any sense

i would leave it unspoofed as a 47 and play games

its just a xenon, after all
