Trouble flashing my X3-chip

[font=verdana, arial, helvetica]Hi people, I'd appreciate all the help you can give me.
The deal is: my only possibility is to flash from a disk.
So I've tried all the tutorials wit dozens of different DVD-R and CD-R labels. I've done everything as said. I've tried UDF and ISO disks. The Flashbios on the chip is 3.0.0. I've got no idea what my xbox's version is, as I just got it (already modded in the store) and the original HD was replaced with a samsung SpinPoint 200gigs. The drive recognizes the DVD-R's but claims there's no bios update, though there is the 3108 as bios.bin and a dummy.bin (100megs). And yeah, the switches are set just right on on off off off. Actually I've tried everything. The box is brand new and it has a samsung dvd-drive...
This is getting really expensive too.
so if ya can gimme some tips, please do.

Make sure the flash protect is off (switch 5 on the std bank select, RED on pro switch).

What's the exact message you get?

Yeah the switch is off.
It says:
CD-Rom Label:
No Bios Update Found... Halting!

ok - it's definitely not reading the BIOS.BIN file.

Stick to DVD+RW / DVD-RW as these should work as well (and not cost you disks).

Keep bios.bin as is, but change the dummy file to 1dummy.bin. Burn at a slow speed.
