Anyone else? It just freezes after trying to start. I get nothing on the screen.

try changed to ntsc in config live, or change it to pal if you are already on ntsc.
im asumming you have other backup games that work so you can rule out problemas with media.

I am getting the same problem, I originally had an older X3 Bios so figured that might be part of the problem but I even after upgrading to 3294 I am still having the same issue.Paulitix said:

Starting with the modchip disabled the retail disc doesnt even work.

In X3 Config Live I set the video to PAL and I can see that it works but my TV doesn't seem to like PAL because the image just keeps scrolling by, so I do not think it s a problem with the media itself.

I had that same problem with GTA and other games. Try changing the region code to Auto instead of NTSC or Default. Mine was set to default. It fixed my probs. And it actually was fraggin too, but I used Slayer to reinstall all apps and format and that fixed that prob. Try the region code. Let me know...

I set the Video > Game Region Code in EvoX to Auto and PAL, Auto locks PAL makes TV image loop.Ganksta187 said:

The most disturbing thing to me is why the retail disk wont boot, even with the mod chip "disabled" (Power Long so LED goes red)
I have tried launching the retail disk in the following ways:
Modchip Disabled:
-straight boot with disk in drive
-from MS dash
Modchip Enabled X3 3294:
-straight boot with disk in drive
-UnleashX w/ settings above
-EvoX w/ settings above
I have tried launching the "backup" in the following ways:
-From UnleashX games launcher
-From Px HDDLoader under EvoX
-From DVD2Xbox under UnleashX
I have set the EvoX IGR and TSR to disabled (via the gui) along with disabling the X3CL IGR (via the gui)
I dont get any FRAGs when it locks, it just shows a black screen, or the Xbox logo on black depending on how I try to boot the game
I have also read that some games just have an issue with HDTV so I have tried the standard AV cable also... no luck either.
Fustrating to say the least... esp since this is a legit retail copy of the disk.

Well, actually the same thing happened to me with GTA, I used slayer to reload everything. That worked for me.. I had the Original disk, copy of disk and game on the HD, Same prob. Would not play. I say try slayer...
just a suggestion but have your tried deleting the cache drives, if the original doesnt work either, with the mod of then i would try that, also try the original disk in another xbox.

also check the time and date is set correctly, and if they aint important delete the relevent game saves.

Thx, I will try to try this and the time/date tonite hopefully. I tried clearing the save game files already (for some reason its creating one everytime I try to run the game even if it locks) with no success.matt77303 said:
Next step is tracking down an unmodded xbox to try the disc on, and if all else fails try doing a fresh Slayers install as recomended.

i was reading another post about backups and originals of the same game not working, recommended 1. delete game saves 2. check time and date 3. clear cache drives 4. check game in another xbox 5. disable IGR 6. pray
i would definatley check the original disk in an UNMODDED xbox before you go reinstalling slayer, not that i would recommend slayers anyway!

Update: Game still doesnt work 
I have cleared my E:Cache, even deleted any stray files in X: Y: Z:, I set the correct date and even deleted the save game files.
Game still wont load from local launch from HD (UnleashX Games Manager, or DVD2XBOX), or the retail media, Mod disabled and enabled.
X3CL IGR is still disabled, and I didnt see a setting in UnleashX for a TSR or IGR.
Game works perfectly fine in an unmodded Xbox
Any ideas? I cant keep my friends unmodded Xbox forever
