Hi: I have just finish installing a X3CE chip on a Xbox version 1.2 with a Samsung DVD drive. Everything seems to be Ok until I try to flash the X3 Bios 3294 I download from #Xbin. I read all the tutorial from Team Xecuter and follow their instruction on creating a DVD to use to flash the bios. So far I wasted 7 Ridata G05 DVD-R , I use a Pioneer A09 DVD burner at 4X speed. I also try to use the Qwix 1.01 to create the ISO file & burn it with Nero 6 to flash the Bios. still no luck. After I get to the screen - Please insert CD Flashing Mode. When I put the disk in. I neither get the "Waiting for Drive" in some disc or "No Bios Found - Halting" in some disc. I know from reading the Tutorial that is because I didn't burn the disk correctly. But I follow all the instuctions and still can't burn 1 that will work. Can somebody please help me. Thank you.

Hi Matt: i also use a Sony CD-RW disk but still no luck. I can't HTTP because I don't have networking set up in my computer. Beside I don't know what the IP address is in the my Xbox. I know nothing about setting up the network to connect the PC to the Xbox. Otherwise I would have try it. Thanks for the Patience.

Hi Matt: I just got home and try to burn a CD to flash the bios. And it still show the message no bios found - halting. Also I just check the Pioneer DVD drive is a DVR A108 and not a A09. Also when I try to read the DVD or CD I burn with the ISO file. from the disk I burn using Qwix 1.01 - it said E:\ is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. When I try to flash with that disk. It said "waiting for Drive" and after a long while the message "Please insert CD - Flashing Mode. on The disk I make following direction from How to create a flashbios compliant CD. I could see the BIOS BIN BIN File 1024KB & DUMMY BIN File 102,400KB in the directory. when I try to flash the Bio with that Disk It said "No Bios Found - Halting". Also I noticed that in Nero 6. Burn menu the Finalize CD is greyed out. Maybe this information could help you to help me figureing out what the problem is. Thank you so much for your help.

Your file should not be BIOS BIN BIN it should be BIOS.BIN. Your file extensions are hidden in windows and when you name it bios.bin, nero is adding another BIN to it. Either turn on the file extensions or simply name your file bios in nero, it will add the .BIN and you will be good to go. Leave the dummy alone and burn it the same way you have been doing.

Don't use quix to make the file into a xiso
That's only for backing up games etc. or for making a boot disc. Flash discs are not supposed to be xiso's. Just use nero to burn the DVD

I had a little trouble, I have the latest nero wich is a little differant than the guide. In the columns, the bios and dummy should go to capitals when dragging to left, if they donet than you need to uncheck the joliet at the beginning. the newer nero is differant.

Thanks all for helping. I rename the Bios.bin to bios and burn another DVD. sure enough Nero add the BIN in the Bios file. after That I check what is in the Disc. It have a BIOS.BIN & a DUMMY.BIN. But It still not working. In the Flash Bio screen It said Waiting for Drive. Then after a while a message Please insert CD - Flashing Mode. I also got the new version of nero. It is a little different than the one in the Guide on the ISO section. and the joliet is not checked. other than that everything is the same. when I drag the file to the left column it goes capital. and I still can't figure out why it don't work. Thanks

The error your getting means the dvd drive can't read the disc your using. Either try a new brand of CD/DVD or try using HTTP to flash your chip.

Thank you everyone. You guys are right. Its the media and Nero which add a BIN ext in the file. I just burn a DVD that flash the bio. I use a old 1X Imation DVD-R which is too slow to burn anything instead of the Ridata G05 8X DVD-R (I waste 10 of them). It work perfectly. If you are using Nero. rename the file Bios instead of Bios.bin. Thank you all for helping.

the bios.bin.bin thing is hard to help. It all depends on wether you have file extension on your computer turned on or off. So there's no definative way to say to do it.
