I just finished up my first RGH Slim. I thought maybe i could just plug and play my external HDD from my Falcon Jtag to my slim. i can explore the external with XEXmenu, but my games dont show on dashboard anymore. i cant open them from XEXmenu either.
Am i missing something? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
BTW if "Flash" on XEX menu, my 4gb internal memory?:rolleyes2: I thought i could load XEX to my internal, and eventually load FSD and dashlaunch from there, and set my gamepaths to the external like i did with my Falcon.

I can play them on my falcon jtag, unplug it from falcon, plug it into any usb on my slim, and none show. I can browse the hdd with XEX menu.
My slim says the drive needs to be configured

edit, im glad i didnt mess with flash then. it didnt seem right, so i didnt.

Slow down - you can play them on the Falcon JTAG - how? Is it connected as an internal HDD?

So you then move it to a USB connection - again, is this the same configuration as the Falcon? (hence my question).

I have an oem hdd attached to the falcon as well as an international in the slim I have yet to install freestyle dash or dashlaunch I'm the slim, but have in the falcon. On my falcon jtag, all my GOD's show in the games folder on the dashboard, but do not show on the dashboard of the the slim.

if you plug an external drive into usb of a jtag or RGH console nxe will want to configure it as max 16gb usb device. unless you format the hdd to fat32 first in your pc.

internally connected drives can just be formatted using format function in nxe.

if your external hdd for your falcon is alreadyfat32 and games are stored there whether in god or raw format then technically fsd2.2/xex menu should see it but nxe won't because it looks for games in god format in internal hdd/content/000000000 folder ect.

So your xex menu not seeing the games is a mystery to me.

iam sure once you got fsd2.2 running all will be resolved.

No Martin, not on my slim. But they do on my falcon jtag.
I was at work last night, later this morning I'm going to try installing freestyle dash, and see if that helps at all.

XEX is seeing them, but my NXE dashboard is not. But I have a feeling you are right about freestyle rectifying the situation.

you shouldn't need FSD installed.

If they show on NXE on your Falcon they will be there on the slim provided you are connecting them BOTH up to the internal SATA.

GoDs have to be present in the internal HDD of a Jtaged/RGH Xbox360 in order to be shown by NXE. This is because official GoDs can only be present on the internal HDD.

And obviously, the HDD you're moving between the Falcon Jtag and the Slim RGH is the external one.

If you have an extracted game present on the external HDD, then you should be able to play it on both the consoles by just moving the moving the external HDD. While if the game is a GoD one, then it has to present in the internal HDD, which obviously you can't just move between an Original Xbox360 and a Slim one.

I was thinking this is what he's doing: moving between internal SATA on the phat and USB on the slim. If this is the case, you need to access them through FSD on the slim, using USB:\Content\0000000000000000\ as the path with a scan path of 3.

I am using it an external hdd on both, but have transfered most to internal on falcon, so that is my problem. I'll just transfer them to my internal hdd, and all should be good! Thanks guy! For some reason I though NXE would read them from external as well.

Your posts are getting more confusing.

on your Falcon:

1. Can you access your games from the external HDD from NXE?
2. If so, did you have to do anything different to make it work?

on your Slim:

1. Did you apply the same changes to the slim as you did to the Falcon?

I apologize, on my falcon, I transfer most games to my "oem" hdd, but still have some on my external that wouldn't fit on my upgraded 320gb "oem" hdd, and was using freestyle dash
On my slim, I have a small hdd, and haven't transfered anything. I thought I should be able to play them from external hdd as GOD's.
Does that make a bit more sense?

I guess in its simplest explanation, I didn't realize GOD's had to be on international hdd to be accessible from NXE.

NXE only looks at pre-defined paths, which are mostly related to internal HDD and Xbox360 formatted partition on a USB drive.

It doesn't look on a simple FAT32 formatted external USB drive. In order to run a game from an external HDD, you'll have to either use a Launcher such as XeXMenu or FSD OR use QuickBoot to make shortcuts so that they may appear in NXE while the game is actually present on the external drive.

I have to admit, this seems so obvious, that I'm ashamed I didn't realize it myself, or figure it out anyway.
Thanks guys!
