ANSWERED Try to extract keys from a Liteon 0272

Ok what am I doing wrong, I have followed the tutorials exactly. I have a Liteon 9504 that I updated to the most recent dashboard as the tutorial said and then using my ck3 for power and x360usb pro JF ed. I connected the drive and using jf 1.92b clicked the dvddrive32 key tab then checked dummy.bin and hit slim unlock, selected no and it keeps saying that it failed. What am I doing wrong? I installed the most recent drivers and all that for the flasher. On the I/O port the drive shows up but on the com port the usb pro doesnt but it does show up on the I/O side under devices, is this wrong? The drive is a Liteon dg-16d4s that is a 9504 aka 0272. If someone could give me an idea of whats wrong or an idea to an alt way to extract the key I would appreciate it. Also on the I/O side under the drive info it says Drive Key not found, whats with that I thought this drives keys were cracked? Thanks in advance for the help.

just press the slimkey click no to the first pop up, then yes to the second pop up.power cycle the drive then you get the dummy.

your pcb is locked slim unlock will fail.

I am using the guide on modchipcentral.com that is right below the order button for the usb pro.

Couuld you please clarify do I need an unlocked pcb, ie is mine locked or not, what info do you need to determine that? Also is there ANY Soldering or Heating epoxy needed to install an unlocked pcb? And is the one listed on the site above okay to use if needed?

Lastly I updated the usb pro to .18 via the .12 update tool and now the USB Only tab is grayed out, what do I do now as I cannot locate the drive now. Thanks.

Also if it helps in figuring out whats wrong on the USB Pro the red light for the port I/O is on and I cannot get it to go back to the Winapi light. I figure I did something wrong in the update could you tell me what and how to fix it. Thanks.

Now I got it to work I got the key and saved it and the dummy.bin file and saved the dummy.bin to ****s sd card, when it asked if I want to load the lt lite source I said no is that okay? Am I ready to go or is the pcb still an issue? Thanks

first thing to do is get your dummy.bin file.

while you got your drive hook up to jungleflasher it will show you if you have a mxic or winbond board.

if your on the latest dash then your drive is locked.unless you had it flashed before and it's been unlocked.

if you get the tx unlocked pcb then there is no soldering to do at all.

if you look at this pic it gives you a idea if you got a mxic board and tells you its locked

number 2 mxic or winbond it will say there.

number 3 spi status 0x8c is locked 0x00 is unlocked.

ok but I got the dummy.bin file can you get that if the pcb is locked? I have the mxic board and that is the one on the site so that is good to know. So at this point I have the dummy.bin file and am just waiting on the pcb issue before proceeding with the **** install. Thanks.

P.S. i am on the most recent dash BUT I bought the system used and believe that it was signed before but not sure.

yes you can get the dummy.bin even if it locked.

mxic is good coz you can get the sputnik switch and solder that to your pcb to unlock the drive.

but if you no good at soldering then i say get somebody to do it for you.

I think it was modified before, ie the board may be unlocked even on the new dash. Is there a way to find out for sure if the pcb is locked. I dont want to order the board or sputnik if I do not need to thanks so much for your help.

undo the drive,look on the ic and see if it has a little hole in it.

look on the under side of the pcb and see it it's got a sputnik switch or if it's had a trace repair on it.

if you still unsure then post good clear pics of both sides of your pcb.

Yes it is locked but do I even need it to be unlocked as I am going to be using the **** emulator. As far as I know and in all the guides it never mentions the pcb board at all, since i wont be usind disks is it necessary, sorry for the dumb question I am new to xbox though I am familar with wii and ps3 and ds and psp. Thanks.

if you are talking about an ODDE - then you are in the wrong place as thats nothing to do with xecuter
