Trying to connect via FTP

I'm trying to connect via FTP to backup all of my HD data, but I can't seem to connect to the xbox with CuteFTP. I flashed via http, so I know the connection is good, but is there some special setting, or maybe a different FTP program I should be using?

I have a 1.5 xbox with a 2.6CE Lite chip w/M8plus bios

What dashboard are you using? What IP settings have you got setup for it (you cannot FTP through the MS Dashboard - you need either XBMC/Avalaunch/Evox/Unleash etc).

If you need a bootdisk, let me know.
