Trying to install Avalaunch

Ive finally, got my chip installed and now im trying to get avalaunch on my HD. Ive tried every disk I have and i read that you could ftp it without a boot disk, does anyone know if you can and how to do it?

Yes you can ........first off make sure you have a crossover ethernet cable ...(like the one you use to system link in your halo parties)....then hook it up to your computer striaght into it....then your xbox....then you use the progam that you downloaded off the internet (which is FLASH FXP)and when you hook them up open your program (FLASH)and type in your user and password name which is "x3" without paranthesis and then you type in the ip adress you read of your tv that your xbox is giving you and then you open the dashbord (avalaunch) that you want........then you drag it over to you c: drive and yeah it should work......also make sure you have your x3 config live disabled when it turns on so it goes to avalaunch's dashbord and then you should have it.........

but i dont have avalaunch on my box yet. I have a thompson drive and its not reading my disks....... so i was wondering if i need a boot disk or if i could get avalaunch on my box without it.
