I have only installed a couple X3's and they have always went flawless. A friend of mine sent me his machine as he was having difficulty getting it flashed.
It seems he has really messed up the flashing too. The only thing I can to work is booting the chip up into backup (256k) mode and of course it boots up fine with the long press, right to MS Dash.
The install seems fine since I can actually get the backup mode to boot. I tried flashing a regular 256k bios to it like the regular M8 or X2 4983.06 but of course I get "not recognized" then halt. (no, flash protect is not on)
I thought if I could at least get a 256k bios on there and load up evox I could try to somehow clear the banks, which I don't know how to do yet. I read a few posts about X3_erase or something like that, but have no idea where to find as of yet.
Any ideas (besides putting a different chip on..lol) would be greatly appreciated. I can't believe this chip as good as it is doesn't have a "noob nuked it" switch in order to run a recovery cd like the Xenium Ice has.
I have personally tried booting this chip up in every switch configuration imaginable, so he has really put the screws to the chip. Luckily, I can still get to backup so maybe there is hope for this chip after all.
Thanks in advance for any info thrown my way.
