Trying to update to use kinect

I am probably missing the obvious but here goes. I have aa 250gb slim fitted with CR3 lite and demon, all works fine except it needs an update for the kinect to work on the RGH nand. I have a usb 1tb for use on the RGH, both the RGH and the stock are running 16203, the kinect works fine on the stock.
I have got the usb update from microsoft but cant get the box to see it, whether I put in on a usb stick or on the 1tb drive. I have changed the launch.ini file from noupdater true to false, and still wont update. I have also renamed the update file from $systemupdate to $$ystemupdate and still no avail.

What am I missing??

just dont forget to check rgh 2 and write to ur demon.

After you extract it to root of USB drive, Rename $Systemupdate to $$ystemupdate. Pop in and boot up.

Copy the system update folder so you have two. Name one as $Systemupdate the other to $$ystemupdate
It will pick one of em up and update.

If it isnt doing it you prob have wrong update

The update will only install to a FATX device.

create latest freeboot image in j-runner. flash image to demon. download microsoft usb update for latest dash. rename $Systemupdate to $$ystemupdate. also there is a default launch.ini built into the freeboot image, which loads first, then it loads the one from your usb/hdd, hence why you can have j-runner build launch.ini, but cant find the file.
