Far from here!
Considering doing a tsop flash. If I did then I could just save the original and reflash it if I wanted to put it back the way it was right? This would be on either a 1.6b or a 1.4. Would it matter which one I flashed?

Youd be doing it on the 1.4 as you cant do that to a 1.6. And when you do it there is a command to backup the original bios so that you can later apply it. I just did one for a friend of mine last week on a 1.0... very easy.

Re: via 6421a

If it's a PCI card, it goes into a PCI card slot. PCIe slots are available in four types: x1, x4, x8 and x16. There is only one type of PCI card slot.

The PCIe x16 slot is larger than the PCI slot and it has a little notch at the end. The PCIe x4 is definetely way too small for a PCI card so you probably jammed the card into a PCIe x16 slot (or maybe an AGP Pro slot).
