Tutorial wiring discrepancies

Like many others in this forum, I have been having some problems with the wire install method versus the pinheader install. In doing my research, I have come across both of these commonly used photos.

First, this one from the LPC diagnostics tutorial on xbox-scene:

Then this one in the X3 wiring installation guide:

The first thing to notice is that the second pic is labeled as a wiring guide for v1.0-v1.5 Xbox, but the tracings on the board are *actually* a v1.6 Xbox. The tracings on the top photo are shown correctly. That aside, I'm still assuming that as long as the correct color wires are connected to the points shown, it will still work.

My question deals with the labeling differences between the 2 pics. Could that be the root of some of the problems people are having?

1 - LClk - Black
2 - Ground - Brown
*****3 - LFrame - no wire shown?
4 - (no connection)
*****5 - Rst - no wire shown?
6 - 5.0v - Red
7 - Lad3 - Orange
8 - Lad2 - Yellow
9 - 3.3v - Green
10 - Lad1 - Blue
11 - Lad0 - Purple
12 - (no connection)
*****13 - no label? - Gray
*****14 - no label? - White
*****15 - 3.3v - no wire shown?
16 - (no connection)

Is there anyone out there that can explain the discrepancies for points 3, 5, 13, 14, & 15?

I have a v1.0. I'm just trying to figure out the discrepancies between the 2 photos. I wired up using the color chart from the second, but then some of the labeled points in the first don't have anything connected to them. Wondering if that's part of the problem . . .
