I have a 1.6b. I have a lot of serious border cutoff problems when using sketchy programs like linksbox and running anything linux related. Even the damn linux cromwell bios. Is that a 1.6b sh*tty video hardware issue?

Well I think they can move the text in the flash bios. I get a different position from the 2.x and the x3 flashbios.

In video editing there is a safe area, where if you put your text in a box it is sure to display on standard tv's.

Executer could probebly fix the FlashBIOS. And the ppl who write Xlinux could probably change the code to be Overscan complient.

Xbmc allows you to change the Position of the video as standard.

Some Tv's display better than others, so screen position code in homebrew software would be good.

As for games tho - what u got is what u got. I dont know if a solution is possible.

this has nothing to do with the chip nor bios (except the case of the AR bug in 1957). everyone who is complaining of this describes their tv as a POS. hmmm, i wonder what the problem could be...
i have a 42" sony hi-deff hdtv that cuts off some of the edges. are you going to tell me it's because my tv is a piece of sh*t? i didn't think so.

Xbox Games work out pretty decent actually. No cutoff that I can see. And XBMC and some emulators have screen configs so it's doable. I think the default screen setup is set by the bios and that's what the dash uses too. If we could get a screen config as part of the X3 bios, I'd be super excited. Or is this something in the eeprom (which I'm a newbie to yet)?

Re: extracting keys

You will need to do a MRA hack or something to retrieve the key that has had LT flashed onto it

do you not have your original firmware stored somewere?

Re: extracting keys

paul is right.

you will need to MRA hack if you don't have a dummy saved
