Two Demons, Two Demon Problems

Hi all, rare I have problems with boxes but seems good fortune has caught up with me...

I had my two Jaspers Demoned a couple of years back and both have been running fine until now. I didnt do the installs (can barely tie my shoelace..) and have lost touch with the original installer.

Demon 1: I accidentally plugged in a external HDD as it was booting and the console cut out, no pops or fizzes just cut out.
Now the Demon NAND gives three lights and the Retail NAND boots into some fooked up Xbox tutorial (large controller on screen) with messed up graphics and no visual response.

Demon 2: I went to update both kernals today and the daughter board ribbon cable clip has busted! I took the box apart and tried my best to jury-rig it but its completely dead, on top of that the ground wire has come loose from inside the box :(

I used a blade to pull back the small metal clip and use that to hold the ground in place then stuck it down with tape.

I was able to get it to boot into Retail and update via USB and then flick back to Demon but now the board is dead-dead (no light, no response and stuck in Demon) and obviously the USB port is dead so I cany update the Demon NAND :(

It still boots the Demon NAND but I cant flick back to Retail, not a problem though as I dont use Retail but was following the update guide.

So,

Demon 1: Is it fooked or easily fixable? Something I could do myself?
Demon 2: Can I flash the Demon NAND some other way like Xell?

Appreciate any help though, I suck at hardware stuff :(

Might be better off having someone take a look at them for you. there is a request for service section. In order for us to try to help you. You would need to fill out the RGH Help Template. Also, I would suggest starting with getting one console working, then going onto the next one.

Ive just had a browse through the Traders forum and found someone in my area Im going to contact.

Ive got a couple of other boxes that need looking at for one reason or another and while Ive got the money in the bank it might be worth getting them all looked at!

While I do that, is there anyway to update the Demon another way? That way I can still play some newer games while I get the rest sorted.

Cheers for the reply :)

The 360 NAND obviously gets updated via normal process (xbox live or USB update).

For the DemoN, you can use the update feature in dashlaunch combined with J-Runner (check P22 of the J-Runner PDF).

I stumbled on this myself while reading up.

Unfortunately Im running into the 'No network' problem.

Can ftp etc with DL/FSD/XEX but the minute I run the standalone server it wont start due to no network. DL refuses to start it as well even though I can ftp in while its running.

Tried DHCP, static, Auto via XOver but its just not having it.

;edit; Removed all traces of DL, updated to 3.11 (from .10) tried again and now I get an error on the standalone saying I need to update patches to be fully enabled. Says network, dll and server are ok but stops the network after words :(

Sigh, definitely need to get these looked at :(

;edit; Im sure this is a NAND issue and not network. So, can I update another way say with Xell?
