You'll get FRAG as the HD and DVD are not plugged in! Why haven't you plug them in?
plug it all together and see what you get!

The logo on your external switch turned red?

That is not a bad thing.

red simply means you're running the box with the chip disabled

From what I have understood, you should probably check D0. Without D0 properly connected the box will boot from the original BIOS.

i have the same case b4. After checking the D0, i would suggest checking the LPC rebuild. Especially that LAD3 marked blue in the LPC rebuild tut. It connects both the pin to the pad/via. Next check the Yellow LAD1 .. make sure when u solder that spot, the solder doesnt spill over to the next 2 trace beside that pad/via.

Even without HDD/DVD installed, or the video cable plugged in, your xbox should boot with both LED on X3 and with X3 blue logo on the chip, and with no frags ... Thats how i tested mine, until it all worked, then only i put back all the pieces n test it on the TV =p .

If it still frags.. then your next bet is to use the Digital multimeter , set pin 2 on the LPC as ground n measure all the voltage at the pins ( with xbox switched on) and measure the resistances ( with xbox switched off ) ... Oh .. make sure u have your LPC rebuild installed b4 u measure the voltages/resistance
