What is the physical difference between the TX CK3 Probe V3 and TX Sputnik360 Probe. Does anyone have any schematics or pictures of the traces they can share? From my understanding, the only difference between the two is that the sputnik has some resistors in parallel controlled by a dip switch. Both probes seem to cut power to the 3.3v/ground to the drive at the switch location, and both probes seem to simply ground out the pogo pin to ground the pin on the drive pcb. Is this correct? Is there anything unique to them besides marketing? From what I can see from photos they behave almost exactly the same hardware wise. Any one who can explain how they actually work, or even provide pictures or images of schematics/traces would greatly aid me. Thanks for any information!

As far as I know the only difference is one is designed to dump keys from a liteon-16d2s(Probe V3), and the other is used to dump keys from liteon-16d47(Sputnik). I would assume that tx wouldnt design it the way they did, or still manufacture the probe v3 if the sputnik/probe v3 worked on both.

That is what I am trying to figure out. If only I had some good photos of the traces to go by. From photos online they both seem to simply ground out pin on the pcb and nothing more. According to some of these home made probes such as: http://i.imgur.com/wCoAznn.png and http://i.imgur.com/DeGVw7e.png As well as these threads: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62016 and http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61787 It seems that the ck3 probe simply grounds the pin to extract the key. The 3.3v is simply for state notification via LEDS. I am still trying to find data on the sputnik probe though. I am sure TX has a reason for designing both. Maybe someone could comment if they have tried a sputnik probe in replacement of a ck3 and if it worked or not, or vice versa. Edit:: this also confirms the grounding solution, although it appears to only be for pmt probes which I assume is the ck3 v3: http://199.167.31.196/diy_pmt.pdf I am still trying to figure out how the sputnik probe works :/ Edit2:: After further review and searching it seems I was right. According to different photos and other users attempts and creations, the CK3 probe simply applies ground to the pin. The sputnik probe also does this, except it has some fancy LEDs and resistors on it. After some reading people have simply grounded the point on slim drives through a 10 ohm resistor and it has worked fine and schematics I have found reinforce that. http://i.imgur.com/nC4daYQ.png http://i.imgur.com/yW57odB.png http://i.imgur.com/yYVLpmU.png
