LITEON 9504 TX PCB Not Entering Vendor

Ok guys, Got a TX pcb for my drive, previously flashed to LT+1.91 with no issues. I am now trying to flash LT+1.92 but not having any sucess

I have followed the guides but no matter what I do I cant get it into Vendor mode so I can read/write the firmware.

Tried the switch to both WP=0 and WP=1

I am using a VIA VT6421 and JF is detecting my drive.

Can anyone please advise.

after that just unlock the spi, flash 1.92, lock it again and then outro.:rolleyes2:

you prob need to outro it a couple of times.

dont forget to lock the switch once done:rolleyes2:

Thanks for the swift reply. When I click intro it fails

Again tried it on both switch positions, wp=0 detects the drive but wp=1 does not

if I was flashing multiple drives then yes but as it's only mine it's not really feasible.

The thing I dont get is iv never had any issues before.

I was having this exact same problem last night then I changed pc's and it worked first time.

I would either try reinstalling windows or use a different pc

wp=1 it should be set to.

intro the drive you may get a pop up saying

if you wish to resend the command you should click yes.
power of the drive and then back on (within 1 second)

if you do then just click yes,and power your drive of then straight back on again.

click the read button.
after that just unlock the spi, flash 1.92, once done lock spi again and then outro.

When I click intro, I click yes then quickly power off then on but it just goes ..... for a long time then device intro failed

I never used to have this problem and there has been no changes to my pc.

try JungleFlasher 1.86 see if that works

also try the slim key button.

I'm having the exact same problem and have been trying to figure it out for hours now. I have a 0904 that was updated to 0272 with the dash, have used the exact same pc and setup several times over with no problems whatsoever. Tried older version of JF and the same thing.... simply cannot enter vendor mode whatsoever. I hope we both get this figured out!!!

Edit: Also tried DOSFlasher 1.9 and 2.0. Can not enter vendor mode and the same status 0x51.

I have this exact problem down to the core. I have tried everything I can think of. My TX PCB replacement flashed to v1.91 correctly, but now that I want to update to v1.92 I can't get into vendor mode.

I followed the guide to get to v1.91, but now all I am trying to do is intro and I can't get past it. I tried on all sorts of chipsets that have always worked in the past, and now that I am on the PCB Replacement with 0272 v1.91, I can't get into vendor mode on anything.

I have tried DosFlash v1.8/1.9/2.0 on several chipsets, including one with IDE mode set on a SATA2 Controller. None of them worked.

Everyone keeps regurgitating the same answer: BUY AN X360USB PRO, but I can't, they are out of stock. Plus even if I could, why give up on hardware that has always worked in the past? Clearly something else seems amiss.

EDIT: I have tried different versions of JF, v1.66, v1.85, v1.86, and v1.87. I have tried Slim Key, and Slim UnLock. Can't get into vendor mode.

Hardware: CK3 Lite, TX PCB Replacement, and the chipsets listed in the other post.

*Note: ~Craig~ and I have the same recommended VIA card. Both same problem. I believe their are 6+ different SATA connections being tried here, and yet we all have problems... They all used to work. So what the hell is making the PCB not go into vendor mode.

I expect the items I purchase to work without having to shell out even MORE $$$, especially when the item worked perfectly fine until being flashed. Now it's incompatible with all three of my chipsets and with how many ever the other two people have.

What's the deal?

The fact that VIA doesn't work well with slim drives is well known - I presume your flash to 1.91 was its first use ?
You went from having a blank chip (works on almost any chipset)
Then you flashed it with locked slim drive (0272) fw -(after outro this is now essentially a slim drive - enter the VIA problems)

There is a work round for this but its a pita

IF you have a PMT set up (probe 3 style)
then
1. Click Intro
2. Power off on CK3
3. Click Yes
4. Hold in your Probe 3 Button (the one on your 3.3v Line on cable)
5. Power ON on CK3
6. a second after powering on - release the probe 3 Button.

This delays powering the SPi and allows drive to enter Vendor Mode!

failing this you could also use Badflash Method for Slims
during intro ........
1. Power off CK3
2. Probe MPX01 (with PMT)
3. Power ON CK3
4. As soon as you see status change lift the probe (DONT HOLD IT THERE)


So PLEASE STOP TRASHING THE T-X PCB - Its your Chipset! NOT the PCB

07:13 deadliner • i think the tx pcbs were rigged to not work without usbpro after the initial flash. three people now with the same issue of not being able to get into vendor mode.

I don't have a probe because I've never needed one. Also, flashing worked fine BEFORE the TX PCB was even released, on the same chipset(s) I have now. So how can it be that when I've flashed many times with it?

yeah but what were you flashing PHATS or Slims??????
If you don't want to spend the extra money to complete the flash, then sell the TX PCB and use your originals???

Unfortunately I don't have one of the tx probes. I'm not trashing the product I'm just a bit confused as to why it's not working. Before I had the tx pcb I was flashing my original slim 9504 pcb without any problems.

Ps. I have no problem about the idea of having an x360usb pro if I was flashing multiple drives but as it's only mine it is not really feesable.
