Unfortunately I don't have one of the tx probes. I'm not trashing the product I'm just a bit confused as to why it's not working. Before I had the tx pcb I was flashing my original slim 9504 pcb without any problems.

Ps. I have no problem about the idea of having an x360usb pro if I was flashing multiple drives but as it's only mine it is not really feesable.
+1

And @diaboliq20, slims. "Spend extra $ to complete the flash"? Why should I have to when It worked just fine on the stock PCB?

I guess I have no choice in the matter than to buy a probe. It pisses me off but what else can a guy do. I have no experience with probes whatsoever... do I just get a CK3 Probe 3 or get someone to sell or make me a PMT?

i updated my drive not a prob.it's chipset prob you got.
get a probe3 or a usbpro.coz you have the same prob on every update.so you end up usein it more than once.

or send your drive to somebody that will do it for you bud.:rolleyes2:

Getting mixed up in all of this, I forgot to say thanks to BraveH43 for providing the solution. I wouldn't have been so upset about TX if I had just gotten a simple answer like the one you provided when I was asking in IRC. All I got was "read the jf guide!!!" and "buy a usbpro!!!". After trying to get it working for11+ hrs I was pretty frustrated with no one being able to give me a straight up answer. So... thanks. :)

Edit: I'm confused about two steps, depending on the method used can someone please elaborate further on these?

"Hold in your Probe 3 Button (the one on your 3.3v Line on cable)"
or
"Probe MPX01 (with PMT)"

Like I said, never used a probe before.

the probe 3 button is the button that is inline in the peobe 3 cable....it powers the probe on and off....off when the button is pushed, and on when it is released...

probe mpx01 with pmt....simply means use the probe on the mpx01 point on the board =- have a look in the tut section for phat liteons and look through the guide - you'll see it used in there

Thanks! Now just to find a place that doesn't rape for shipping. $10-$15 is overboard for something that weighs next to nothing. :)

I'm still split. I can see I'm going to need something and the USB pro seems the better idea as it would save having to open the drive itself each time. At the moment I don't need to as I have drilled a small hole in the drive casing to acess the switch.

If anyone has one for sale pm me.

Mate, a Probe 3 is just a pin connected to GND! it also has a off/on switch on 3.3v line of drive cable.

Carrying out Badflash method doesnt use the 3.3v switch!

so.....................

all you need is a wire connected to GND on the PCB and touch it to the MPX01 point (as per instructions earlier!)

It will work exactly the same way!

I read this in a couple different places:

power cycle the drive
press ctrl + sh*t + f9
click intro

It's almost 5:30am and I'm too tired to rip apart the slim and drive again right now. If anyone else has a chance to try it before I wake up, post back with your results. :)

Tried but no luck. Guess the x360usb pro is what I'm going to go with. Sill looking for one on here if anyone has one. If not I will just buy it from one of the sites later.

not being funny mate - but the x360USB is one of the single most useful tools when it comes to stuff like this - being able to backup with it is a huge benefit...it's sooooper fast and makes flashing a doddle :)
shame I don't live in Dorset....coz I'd recommend it to anyone.......lol
get it???
lol
neva mind lol

I will be buying it but I'm just waiting to see if anyone has one they don't want anymore before I do.

Plus I have emailed a seller asking if the one they are selling is complete with the case. Just waiting on a reply.

I am happy things are being sorted out. All I wanted to figure out was what the problem was, and the ways we could solve it. Everyone told me the ONLY solution was x360usb pro. But clearly that is not true. And saved me a lot of money.

But now that we have the truth about the slim drives, I will probably cash out for the x360usb pro when it is available because I trust the products more when I am getting the answers that make the most sense.

It is always best to be humble when you need help. However, it is just as important to be humble when helping someone.

Sadly some mods on JF IRC were far from it.

The x360usb pro is very useful, especially because it can also be used with HDDs if required.

Thanks again BraveH43

P.S. I think I was confused by the first guide because my CK3 Probe 3 doesn't have a button to push..or am I misreading. Either that or I got ripped off lol.
