Thought I would start this topic, I installed my post qsb on my slim last night and tried booting 10 times on each point between 29 & 50. But to be honest I really don't see much of a difference.

I'll post my full results in the morning, how did everyone else do with this new mod?

44, 47 and 50 were much of the same. times all over the place and not consistent. to be honest these times are about the same(ish) then when i just connected the blue wire straight to the board

Any other tips or anything i can do to improve the timings?

Mostly at home
Did you boot with the blank board or did you always reassemble the whole box (especially the metal cage)?

I'd also try separating the wires a bit more on the coolrunner, Maybe even solder some going the opposite direction.

I'd also solder your 3.3v wire so it's under the coolrunner wires so you can move them away from it.

just asking here....would it be any better if a shielded wire is used & connecting shield to ground
afaik ...separating wires is used to eliminates noise or capacitance...so shielding could do the trick...
another thing...would it be any good (in case the a shielded wire with the same diameter is not available) to roll thin aluminum foil around the TX wires and pass the lot in a heat shrinking tube..
i know this is extreme..but just thinking out loud...so no need for bashing..just a noob

Since changing the position of CPU_RST wire is no more an option with the PCB - helped a lot of people - I would be interested in additional optimization too. Maybe I can profit from others findings before my PCB arrives next week?!

I asked about shielding wires in a german forum too, and have been told that some even reported worse results with it?!

tried changing soldered wires on coolrunner around and seperating them but it made no difference.

does it make any difference if we made the 3v cable longer so we can move it away from them cables?

Well TX Team never promised us better boot times. Just that it would be much easier to install :)
that was the whole purpose of these boards was to improve boot times not make it a easier instal, its easier to solder 2 wires than the boards themselves :)

it was only said it MAY improve boot times on SOME slims. they have all been dramatically different for me from console to console with various wiring methods for routing. i'd still try these qsb's on them all though and the cost or lack of makes it worth a shot if for nothing else saving having to trim that wire down which is a pain.

i guess the slim timing should be moddified actually its a pain rgh slim, and trying to make boot times good

i rgh a few slim like last month, people were very happy booting times were under 10 sec, a month later its 1 min plus :D
