Awhile back I bought two TX Unlock Pcbs, One worked flawless, One didn't work so flawless.
I returned for repair, today I recieved it back, a different one but definitly used, it had Lt firmware without a key on it.
So I flashed it with Lt1.91.
When I sent the lock command I recieved this prompt:

So I hit ok,and it locked the drive and continued as normal, But the Pcb will not play any games.
Legit or back-ups, they all show up as "Unreconized Discs", or "Open Tray".

I can install a M$ Pcb back in with the same CFW and it works perfect.

Any ideas??

Erase the pcb and flash as a phat console and hit outro/ata button two or three times then try. I had one that I had issues with if it had firmware on it previously.

Also pics as diaboliq said
do as already been said.also try flash it to stock fw and see if it plays retail games.and if that dont work, send it back as it aint working.

plus you say it defo a used one, it had Lt firmware without a key on it.

i get in contact with your reseller as you payed for a new one.and not used.:rolleyes2:

The message about looking the drives comes up because when you use the unlocked board it needs to be done on phat and if you click the spi button on a phat it's a pain so it's a friendly reminder to make sure it's a slim board

U got a hi res pic of the pcb?
No I don't have any hi res pics, but the board looks intact.

Sorryno pics.
Yeah tried that aready, the other PCB that I have you have to hit the outro two times in order for it to report back as a slim lite on, this board though reports back the first time, but I have tried outroing it several times (That is a good tip though)

Thats what i'm sayin!!
When I first sent it back there wasn't any new PCBs left, but in within a couple of days after they recieved it TX released the second batch, in the resellers email I thought I was going to get a new one.

The other TX PCB that I have does't report back like that when tring to send te lock command, and that one works properly. Thanks though.

There was obviously a reason the one you received was returned as well I would definitely talk to your reseller about it. FYI all the tx pcbs and pro kits I have all give that message.
It's newly implemented.
Hey LittleT I went and unlocked and locked the other TX PCB that I have, because I could've swore I didn't get that message when I flashed it the first time.

Well, sure as sh*t you were right, I got that prompt with that one too, my bad...

Also I just realized that the TX unlock PCBs came with the MXIC chip or with the Winbond chip.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Re: TX Unlock Pcb(Fixed)

After close inspection of the board I noticed that there was two of the small resistors missing.(think they are resistors)
I pulled two off an old Ben-Q board and installed them on the TX Board and it fixed my open tray problem, all fixed.
Thanks again for everyones help.

Interesting Post, steveoo1.

I purchased 2 unlock PCBs about a week ago. I have installed one of them in my 0401 drive and got the same "Open Tray" error you experienced. The other one is still sealed - i have contacted my reseller about it and got adviced to try the second one, too.

Can you tell me if the disc started to spin when you encountered that error? In my case the disc doesn't make a move. i just hear "adjustment sounds".

I have posted a detailed error description here. I also posted pics. Maybe you could have a look to see if those 2 resistors you are talking about are "missing" on this board, too. Or - even better - maybe you could post pics of your modified (corrected, whatever) board.

Edit: The second PCB is fully functional. I will return the faulty one on warranty.
